Re: exporting to wav
Some versions of Audacity mistakenly export your work to the system folders as default. They're a little rough to get to and doing that is a bad idea. File > Export: WAV and see where the dialog is trying to put your work. I usually go through the Desktop for everything and then create custom folder...

Or, you could post a 20 second mono or 10 second stereo example WAV clip to the forum. We may be able to tell you what the corrections are. http://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=49&t=72887 Note it's not unusual for people to post when it's Too Late. If you have interference so loud you c...

Re: Can't open Audacity files
You need to get all these details nailed down before we go off in all directions. We're trying to diagnose your system from multiple timezones and any quality information you give us is good. We have to build your system in our heads.

Re: Equalization: Curve not found - how to fix this issue?
It's possible to run Audacity from inside the Disk Image (DMG) system you downloaded. Did you actually install Audacity? If you don't install it, Audacity will lose its environment awareness and not be able to find it's tools. Audacity may also not be able to save or export your work. If you double-...

All that and because it lets you have many control points, you can make the transition as abrupt or gradual as you want. You can get rid of a control point by dragging it off the window.

It's up to you to do what you need to make the volume come out right. The goal is occasional blue sound wave peaks around -6dB to -10dB. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/AudacityRecording-650w.jpg You may have fallen into the home recording trap. Microphone systems designed for home use can ha...

Preview. Push it a bit more > Preview. The Out Point sticks through all this until you move it . Got t...

Re: Questions From New Narrator
I once briefly played a woman by careful microphone management and acting the woman's part. I'm a bass. Lauren Bacall's voice was lower than Humphrey Bogart. It's very new user to assume it's possible to push a button and Audacity will take care of everything else. Probably not. Acting is a big deal...
