Re: Podcasting Echo

Do you have the theatrically complete mix in your headphones? You, the guests and the internet feed? Does it sound OK? Take a copy of the headphone service into a second computer or recorder and record it that way. You can get an adapter to get your cellphone to record it. It doesn't have to be a fu...

Re: How to make TTS voice more realistic, normal using audac

You should not use abbreviations in questions.

Poor Text to Speech voices have missing tones, inflection and expression. It's the same problem of people wanting Audacity to make normal voices sound like a professional announcer. We can't do either one.

Re: Working With and Exporting Video Files

Audacity will open and extract the sound file from a supported video, but that's it. You need a video editor to put your corrected sound track back in. We can help with the wind sound. Effect > Equalization: Low Rolloff for Speech . This is a pitch filter that drops most sounds lower than 100Hz or s...

Re: Background noise and the waveform looks like a solid ban

remove bacground noise from an audio recording. Is this a surveillance or sub-rosa recording? Can you hear any of the words, ever? Generally, if you can't make out the words, it's all over. Noise Reduction needs to know where the gaps in the words and sentences are—and it has to be pretty accurate....

Re: Recording over mp3 tracks not working

The options are to add a new track underneath the existing one and they play at the same time; or add a new sound at the end of the existing track. Audacity can do both. Switch with a preference: Edit > Preferences> Recording: [X] Always Record... I think there's a hot key for that, but I can't find...

Re: Problem: louder recording

You were just recording a simple second track, or you were overdubbing? Having a higher pitch or playing faster is "normal." That means your computer couldn't keep up and recorded the show slow. Everybody with a slow computer gets that. Having a slow playback is harder. You may have driver...

Talking onto a wine glass? Gritty? Running at the wrong speed? Broken with holes in it?

Describe what you were doing with it happened? Were you cutting and pasting? Marking with Labels? Just playing a segment?

Overdubbing?

Re: data file disappeared after crash

I got nothing. What happens if you make Windows search for the work? This is a complete Project. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg So you're looking for the something-something_data folder. Whatever you called your show. Has this happened before? I'm going with no. I've ...

Re: XLR Mic Only Showing on One Channel

That and these interfaces Are Not Mixers. You can't arbitrarily assign microphones to channels and manage channel behavior unless the writer of the driver software made it that way. A plain interface shovels microphone one down channel one, and microphone two down channel two. If you capture stereo,...
