Re: need help removing music from recording so you can hear
Whenever you discuss your top secret plans, be sure to turn a radio on in the same room with you. It's killer difficult to pull your voice out of that. Oddly, Hollywood didn't make that up. Audacity doesn't do surveillance, law enforcement or conflict resolution. There are companies you can hire to ...

Re: record voice mail from phone
The obvious desperation method is lay the phone speaker over the tablet microphone and record them that way. I have to do a similar trick to "capture" answering machine messages. It won't be studio quality and you have to do it in a quiet room, but it does work. The hardest part may be fin...

Re: Switching between Versions of Audacity
If you have occasion to talk to the university again, please suggest they Export WAV for jobs like this. WAV files are "perfect quality" uncompressed are recognized and play on all three computer platforms. MP3 is not recommended for this. MP3 is a compressed format and always has some sou...

Re: Switching between Versions of Audacity
Oddly, through all that you didn't make any fatal or silly mistakes. So given the university knew what they were doing, it should be possible to rescue the show. Now that you have a working show, File > Export > Export WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit and save it somewhere safe. This is assuming the show does...

Re: Switching between Versions of Audacity
You may have hit the place I'm going to get lost. What does it say at the little speaker symbol up in the Audacity toolbars? Screen Shot 2018-05-24 at 19.44.25.png What kind of computer do you have? Does it play music when you surf to a music video? From here it's Windows settings and I'm on a Mac. ...
