Re: Improving poor church choir recordings

Any advice would be appreciated! Not in post production. You can't "clean that up." Where was the microphone? Somebody in one of the seats of the congregation? This doesn't feel right. The organ should not mop the floor with the choir. The singers could just go home. I'd go to a lot of tr...

Re: increasing RMS while keeping peak below -3dB

You don't need the Limiter to post a test sound file on the forum. The post should be completely "clean" with no effects or corrections.

Read down the blue links. They're very short

Re: 3.0.0 freezes during compression on a 4 hour file

It's a little rough to get a plug-in or series of tools that does the same jobs as Chris. His design metaphor is unique. Can you split the job in two and do it in halves? I do know of one problem Chris has. He uses uncontrolled look-ahead and doesn't like running off the end of a sound file (Wile E....

Re: Problem with noise reduction

I think you're doing all of this wrong and there may be much better tools for a much better result. We'll find that out when we listen to your sound test.

Re: Problem with noise reduction

This might go a lot better with a voice sample.

Don't process or filter anything. Just record it as you normally do, export, and then post it on the forum.

Re: Erase last bit of recording when you stop

The fuzzy rule is Audacity doesn't do anything to the show during the recording process.

You might be able to create a Macro or automatic program, but you will expend more keyclicks launching the Macro than just deleting the click manually.

Re: What am I hearing when I generate a 10 Hz tone?

not all earthquakes are silent only the ones that are happening deep below the surface around 60 miles deep Yes, but. There's a movie-making experience here. You can't "show" an earthquake by presenting low pitch tones. The audience, particularly the US West Coast audience, knows immediat...

Re: New file placement behaviour in Version 3

You should see the number of folk who complain that Audacity nags them thy they are closing without saving their project
There's an easy way to get rid of those complaints.

Re: Struggling to export audio file

You should be careful of the characters you use in the filename. Upper and lower case letters, numbers, -dash- and _underscore_. Those are safe characters to use in filenames. If you use dates, they should be in ISO format. Today is 2021-03-18. Do Not use slashmarks anywhere in a filename. Koz
