Re: Recording with Skype
There is another variation. One podcaster just plugged all up, turned it on made a couple of sound pathway changes and started cranking out podcasts. Boop. Just like that. No idea what was special about his setup, but once a moon phase that works for someone—and not for anybody else. http://reellife...

Re: Problems copying from notebook to desktop using a flash
I got nothing. The only thing I can think of that might give troubles like that is the formatting on the thumb drive. They do have formatting. They are little hard drives in silicon. If the unit is really old or formatted in a way that doesn't support the files, you will lose. One other thing as I t...

And when you do find out how he did it, share. That hardware thing is how many broadcast and podcast people do it. Nobody's interested in chasing Skype all over the map. I would normally "stage" that picture to eliminate all the stuff you don't actually need and to look pretty, but this ti...

Should be pretty basic No. It's not. you're welcome to make fun of me while answering. Maybe later. Rain check. You need to contact your friend and ask how he did it. There are software packages that claim to be able to do this and there are scary hardware solutions. This is how I did it. http://ko...

Re: Cannot Record in Stereo
USB services in general are not mixers. You can't decide you're going to record with directional left/right placement if the microphone or driver software doesn't support it. It fails the other way, too. If you have a stereo microphone system it can be an uphill fight to get a mono (for example) aud...

Re: Does merging audio mess with overall quality?
If you are mixing two or more sounds together, that can cause clipping Actually, I didn't write that. DVDdoug did. You do have to be careful when you're mixing multiple audios playing at once. Your particular application should be OK. As an example, if you duplicated a track so two copies of the sh...

Re: Condenser Mic Recording Issues On Win 10 With Audacity
Which condenser mic and how is it connected? A condenser microphone without phantom power (or batteries) doesn't get noisy. It stops working. One problem with condenser microphones can be you're recording your voice on the laptop built-in microphone by accident. That will sound funny and be low volu...
