Re: Missing audio after crash
Audacity has the ability to work in reference mode where instead of making its own personal copies of music files for editing, it points to them on the fly as they are needed. Audacity gets smaller and much faster when you do that, but the health of your project is now sprinkled across multiple othe...

Re: Waveform area does not resize, zoom, or scroll properly
Could this be that Audacity needs to be in STOP and not PAUSE to make changes? Many of the tools will drop dead, too. This may be an old problem, but it may still be current.

Re: No longer able to record in stereo using Logitech headse
If you were in Windows, we'd be sending you to the Windows Sound Control panels where you have the option (I believe) of forcing mono/stereo. This is where we wait for a Linux elf. I'm out of my world. Just a note: Unless you have a complete celebrity/unicorn headset, the microphone is one channel m...

Re: No longer able to record in stereo using Logitech headse
You got fuzzy there. Having the headset appear at all is different from recording in Stereo. Troubleshooting tip. The USB device name doesn't have to have any relationship to the maker of the hardware. If you can't tell which device is the critical one, Unplug the headset and look at the Audacity re...

Re: How can I suppress/remove ECHO effect with Audacity ?
this has noticeable distortion, but some reduction in the echo. Echoes (recording in a bathroom) are a good, reliable way to kill your show. There are no known good ways to "filter out" echoes because echoes are your own voice coming back to the microphone late. This commercial production...

Re: Why is the Effects Menu still one long list?
In 2.2.2, you have Effects > Add/Remove Plugins. You could strip out all the plugins you didn't need and only the ones left would show up until you change it.
An early tree structure didn't work. It tripled my production time because it didn't have enough controls.

Re: no clipping and issues track display
Allen and Heath ZEDi 8 channel mixer A very common mistake is to try and adapt your Pro/Rock Band microphone to the computer by plugging it into the microphone connection on the side of your laptop. It's cheap, inexpensive and doesn't cost very much. It also many times doesn't work all that well. I...
