Re: Missing Seconds at the Beginning of Each Vocal Segment in a Track
perhaps you could post a screenshot Sometimes posting a screenshot tells us more than you think. You're trying to jam everything onto one timeline, right? It's not the worst idea to spread the segments out vertically like this. Screen Shot 2021-03-25 at 7.34.36 PM.png Those are graphic examples, bu...

Re: Trouble EQ'ing left channel to match right channel?
I don't know about Mid-Side. There would be no reason to want that and that would have been pretty cutting edge back then. I think it's much more likely it's a four-channel tape, stereo this direction and stereo that direction, and you're listening to tape edge damage, or player head misalignment. Koz

Re: Low volume of final exported audio clip
the only issue is I chose 41.4 KHz Hopefully 44100. 41400 isn't a standard sampling rate. What can I do, to make the volume loud on a cellphone too?? I'll be watching this message. Your phone is displaying the video, right? Not just a sound track? So it may be going through video processing in the ...

Re: How to basically calculate the number of GB needed to save a 1 hour Streaming Broadcast?
So for stereo, about 1.3 GB per hour, or 0.65 GB (635 MB) for 1 hour mono. Close. That higher number is for Audacity's super high internal format. But down here in the real world: From Steve: A normal, CD quality, stereo WAV file = 635 MB per hour From Koz: An hour at perfect quality WAV (Microsoft...

Re: Mic turning itself in middle of recording
it starts to turn my mic up to maximum volume without me touching anything Audacity doesn't apply filters, effects, or corrections during recording, but Audacity does get your voice from Windows, not the microphone directly. A lot can go on before Audacity sees it. Windows can apply changes (DVDdou...

Re: Isolate or extract bass. Audacity 3.0.0
Audacity can't separate voices, instruments or sound from a mixed performance.
Instruments are mixtures of different tones, overtones, and harmonics. Separating bass isn't going to give you a bass guitar or bass violin. It's going to give you a wet towel hitting the floor or thunder.

Rode Audio Interface 1. Do post back how it goes.
I'm on the edge of my seat. It makes my knees tingle, but we'll deal with it.

Re: Remove vocals from audio ?
Noise Reduction has two settings (near the bottom): Reduce or Residue. Residue is the stuff that the tool tried to take out.

Re: Recording using Rode NT1 so quiet I can barely hear anything
I got nothing. You don't fit the profile of the Average Home User. It's deadly in your case because home recording systems come out of the box quiet. Overload, clipping, and high volume distortion sound bad immediately and makes the buyer want to send the system back. Clear, but low volume makes the...

Re: Can't open AUP file
You don't need all that. You can't change the names of either the AUP file or the _DATA folders outside of Audacity. You should reverse the last change. changed the name of the AUP file. I did that long ago and the project continued to work properly. That was not supposed to work. That should have f...
