If you need some help with the Brooklyn accent, I have a degree in Greenpoint.

Re: Looking for feedback and advice for new voiceover recording
The Scarlett Solo records very low. Most of them do. It's the manufacturing effort to keep you from sending it back. If they provide very high gain, many users are going to produce overloaded recordings which immediately sounds terrible. Low volume sounds pretty good and it's only a little low so w...

Re: Audacity skipping when recording
Can you make it worse? Sometimes just the ability to change it either direction is enough to suggest a cause. Post a WAV copy of 20 seconds mono or 10 seconds stereo to the forum. Make sure there are skips included in the clip. Sometimes we can rip one apart and get a clue that way. https://forum.au...

Re: Looking for feedback and advice for new voiceover recording
8-1/2 seconds. "By the time I regain my faculties." "Time" seems dense and fuzzy. It showed up on my mastered piece and turns out it's that way on the original clip. You're sure there's no processing in there? You have hum in the recording. There's 60Hz and 120Hz typical of motor...

Re: Looking for feedback and advice for new voiceover recording
I did hold my breath and such I think you left out the "and such." Freeze. We can hear your shirt moving and your pants crinkling. Noise is hard to get your head around. ACX wants your background noise to be 1000 times quieter than your voice. That's the English version of -60dB, if you'r...

Re: Looking for feedback and advice for new voiceover recording
The clip failed noise, but it didn't really fail noise. With reference to this process... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html The "Silent, Room Tone" at the beginning is full of you shuffling, rolling, smacking, ticking and harrumphing. That's enough to throw off...

There is no longer pieces. The dropbox folder is empty.instead of the longer pieces in my dropbox?
The goal of Mastering 4 is to preserve your natural quality. If I do it right, you should not be able to tell I did anything.
As we go.

Re: Need plugin for measuring THD, THD+N and SNR ratio of a system
What's the system? If it's analog audio, getting into and out of the computer will contribute a major part of the distortion and noise even before you run the tests....system...

Re: Audacity skipping when recording
There's a laundry list of things to try. As above, Windows machines are not audio recorders. They're general purpose machines we're trying to sweet-talk into recording audio. Which other apps are you using at the same time? Chat, Skype or other conferencing? Browser or Cloud connection? Restart the ...

Re: Trying to record using a microphone on facebook messenger
More words? We can't see what you're trying to do, so jumping in like that can leave us befuddled. I can guess at it. You're trying to record both sides of a chat and the far side voice is very low volume and distorted. Did I hit it? You should look for an app designed to record both sides. Audacity...
