You can save equalization states with names. It's a little muzzy how to get there, but you can do that.

Re: newbie seeks recommendations
Open it in a text editor. File > Open With. There's already two examples of what we expect it to look like.

Re: newbie seeks recommendations
From now on I will just save everything to WAV. Export to WAV. Audacity only Saves Projects. There is a model for what you have. Audacity writes the AUP file last when you save a Project. If you closed the machine before it got done, you could have an AUP file full of zeros or trash characters. If ...

Re: newbie seeks recommendations
I'm crystal clear about the condition, but I'm completely foggy how you got there. You understand the relationship now. What was the goal? Read a section and then save a project, repeat as needed? That doesn't automatically damage or lose the AUP file. Were you continually saving changes to one chap...

Re: newbie seeks recommendations
If you didn't delete it, the AUP Project Manager file should be on your machine somewhere. Can you search for all the AUP files and pick likely dates?

Right. Those are the six second audio snippets Audacity uses to edit and then construct your show. You should not be in there poking around. That's a good way to permanently destroy the show by accident. Can You Find The AUP File? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg If you...

Re: Noise reduction lowering audio quality
Post a bit of your sound. If you're set up for live performance, use this format. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html That "silent" bit at the beginning is important. Clean background noise is how Audacity knows what the noise is. If you mess that up, you can get...

Re: Most of my effects are greyed out!
Many of the Audacity tools will drop dead if you're in Pause instead of Stop. Maybe it's because my music is in midi form? I didn't think Audacity would play MIDI. I thought we could do some simple file management and that was about it. MIDI isn't music. MIDI is machine control. Tell a keyboard how ...

Re: How to add bass to vocals during recording?
Audacity does not apply effects, filters or corrections during recording. If your other programs can do this, when you win. It's possible you may have set Audacity up to record wrong. If you adapt an XLR microphone to your computer with wiring errors or a bad adapter, you may get partial cancellatio...
