Soundflower Failed?
-- Soundflower Failed? -- Yes, I know it was supposed to and nobody is shocked, but it failed weird. It didn't just stop dead. It records low volume work... ??? What is the current work-around software? I don't need fancy routing master processes or environment management, just send the sound to [so...

Re: Missing block file error after upgrading laptop
Were you using Audacity 2.2.0 or 2.2.1 anywhere in there? The current version is 2.2.2 and if you're using either of the first two, upgrading is highly recommended. https://www.audacityteam.org/ Jury's out on how well Audacity works with iCloud. It typically doesn't do well with Network Connected Dr...

I would think there must be some basic music app out there You don't want a basic music app. That would be iTunes. Scoop up hundreds of songs and dump them in a playlist. I get five keyclicks. Press play in order or scrambled. I'm sure Windows Media has something similar. You want a custom playback...

Re: skip save project nag box
Is this one of those times the Linux people have scrambled Audacity numbers? The current version is 2.2.2.

Re: skip save project nag box
Unfortunately, Audacity isn't a WAV editor. It's a Project Manager, and it doesn't matter how many MP3s you create, if you didn't satisfy Project Hygiene, you're going to get the message.
Yes, it is annoying.

Re: Recording equipment for voice
That's what I thought. There's no significant difference between them except for about a 3dB volume bump for the GLS. I couldn't find any significant difference in real life, either.

Re: Recording equipment for voice
Found it. It's an uncompressed stereo WAV with a real Shure SM58 on the left and the GLS knock-off on the right. They're mounted next to each other on a mic stand. Pull it down, open in Audacity. Use the drop-down menu on the left > Split to Mono. That will give you two independent tracks that you c...

Re: Recording equipment for voice
I've done so many damn retakes... Because......? I would never make this work because I have a flat, featureless voice and I write in sentences longer than I can [gasp] breathe. I'm saying it should be possible to borrow or rent one before you pop for the $100 and shipping. There's another directio...
