Re: Timer stutters

Sierra or High Sierra? The track timer - which ticks away as you record music That's fuzzy. Are you recording against the Metronome or Click Track? Or it is just metaphorically ticking away? I think that's normal. My time line cursor always jerks a bit during recording. Is it audible? I did notice w...

Re: Clear all Tracks

This came up recently. I know I can Command-A select all and then DEL, but that leaves the blank tracks behind. Do you have an actual reason not to close the Project? Are you going to depend on Edit > UNDO to get you out of trouble later? That leaves behind an enormous data blob when you do that. Au...

Re: How do I activate the AGC?

any response to my question about the AGC? Still a bit fuzzy. Audacity doesn't apply effects, filters or corrections during recording. That and Audacity doesn't have AGC unless you added it. A number of people use AGC to signify " do what you need to do to fix it " rather than Automatic G...

Please don't double post. Your messages are moderated and will be accepted as we get to it. If you have a particularly knotty problem, that may take a bit. I read a few lines, pause the recording, and start it to read another few lines That will take you the rest of your natural life to get through ...

Re: Improved Voice Production Technique

Curiouser and curiouser. I found a video by Nilanjan Nag where he uses what seems to be his real voice. I'm guessing he's Indian (continent, not Native American) and has an odd microphone technique. So I'm not shocked he decided to use Text to Speech. It was probably easier than anything else he was...

Improved Voice Production Technique

I'm just shy of 100% certain that's a Text to Speech program. https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=jwyDeBOdltU The vocal "swing" is just the slightest bit off, but the vocal quality is so good you can largely ignore it. If you stick with it long enough, there are actual glitches in the words. I...

Re: Soundflower Failed?

I've also noticed that the latest version of Skype includes cloud based recording: I wondered when they were going to do that. Our version of recording The Whole Conversation was a network connected machine on the sixth floor, subscribing to the conference with no microphone. It recorded everything...

Re: How can i recover an audacity file

The file is still on the computer Audacity does not like to Save sound files. If you want a sound file you have to Export one. But it does save Projects. This is a Project example. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg You have to have both parts. They have to be in the sam...

Re: Soundflower Failed?

Tests your brains out...for ten minutes. Then it goes into "degraded audio."

The pricing seems odd. Depending on whom you believe, it's $75, $99 or $119 USD.

Re: Soundflower Failed?

Goodness! I guess they figured out what they had. That UCA-202 and RCA cable is looking better and better, isn't it? The current Mac Mini has Stereo Line In and Stereo Line Out. It's just needs a 1/8" stereo cable. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/stereoJumper.jpg And a "Y" cabl...
