Re: removing annoying chirp
The "Raw" clip has had processing applied. That wine glass, bad cellphone sound. We can take this the other direction, voice processing sounds like that when it thinks it has work to do. Are you wearing good quality, sealed against your head headphones? If your system doesn't lend itself t...

Re: Improved Voice Production Technique
I revised my dictum of never reading comments.

That's an animation with what I'm assuming is a fake, but better than you expect, voice.
The comments are fascinating. You can make a cartoon do anything and I can do it better.

Re: Need Update for Audacity to Be Compatible with macOS 10.13.6 High Sierra
That's not what it means. High Sierra fully supports 32-bit software—and Audacity—along with a scare message.meaning it is not compatible.

Re: Post recording dead mic noise
people who have been sailing right along for months suddenly find their shows crashing. Let me be clear. Skype always works perfectly unless there's something wrong with your computer. Your recording crashes. One common way is to start recording the Skype echo cancellation and not the main voice. T...

Re: Post recording dead mic noise
I'm getting some low level noise ... that doesn't show up on the level monitor during recording. That's the magic part. I can't explain why it only shows up later. What's the noise if you listen by itself? Is it a distorted version of one of the voices? It's not that low. The Audacity blue waves ru...

Re: Record Level Meter Permanently Turned On Option
Like grown-up sound recorders. I agree, but only as a preference, not default. The thing about grown-up recorders is they're mostly run by grownups who are expecting that behavior. There's nothing like Home User Spacebar Play automatically flipping back and forth between EE recording meters and play...

Re: Overused Noise Reduction (I think)
Missed a step. This is Audiobook Mastering version 4. https://forum.audacityteam.org/viewtopic.php?f=64&t=96103 Most of that is a long explanation of three tools. I need to see if I can make it look a little simpler. It scares people. pretend you're responding to a kindergartener? That's a gimme...

Re: Overused Noise Reduction (I think)
It's good to know of a person is associated with your rejection notice. ACX acceptance goes (so far) in two steps. The Robot which works very much like our own ACX-Check tool, followed by Human Quality Control. The robot is fairly simple. It checks the three main characteristics of audio production:...

Re: Help needed for desk via audio interface issues
Possibly Xenyx 1202? Shure Beta SM52A is a kick drum microphone. Is that it? The microphones in this series do not need Phantom Power, so you can leave that switch off. +48v should be dark. You can tracer sound through your mixer. Plug one of the microphones into the far left-hand sound channel. Tur...
