There is one other thing you can try. Disconnect the network and shut down wifi, bluetooth and all other network services. Restart. If the machine falls over, you may have your answer.

"Can't find this!!"
"Can't find that!!"
"Network Connection not Responding!!"

Re: Realtek HD internal speaker - no playback sound

Stereo show? Did you record it with an XLR microphone and an adapter cable to your laptop?

Try this. Tracks > Mix > Mix Stereo down to Mono. Did the blue waves on the timeline vanish?

Edit > UNDO.

Apple is in love with their iCloud and on-line offerings and services. I have to fight them off. Is your network falling apart? You can have significant service load with network connected storage.

Do a speed check.

I have a new MacBook MacBook or MacBook Pro? Solid State Drive or Spinning Metal? How much memory? When was the last time you shut down and started? Not Restart. You get the SBBOD when the Mac takes longer than it thinks it should on a task. What's your chain? How long are the shows? Daily shows? G...

Re: Eliminating Frying Mosquitos - hardware suggestion

Are you considering an 802USB? I can download the instructions and get used to where the knobs are. Do you have good sealed-against-the-head headphones? You can't use speakers during a live recording. Headphones can help you keep even volume while you read. They're very valuable during troubleshooti...

Re: Noise Reduction Preview -- never finishes

Re: Eliminating Frying Mosquitos - hardware suggestion

should I also get a line level adapter? Not for this job. If you're buying a "USB Mixer," it already has provision to plug right into a USB socket in the computer. Creating a digital bitstream from your analog voice happens inside the mixer. No box in the middle needed. Screen Shot 2018-0...

Re: Eliminating Frying Mosquitos - hardware suggestion

RMS Noise RMS Normalize. You do have to be a little obsessive about the accuracy. There are tools that have similar names. There is already a Normalize. This one is a special purpose version that pays attention to the ACX definition of loudness. Mastering 4 is a suite. A harmonious collection. It's...
