Before you send it back. The UCA-202 is one of the devices I checked for Overdubbing. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo-650.jpg It will monitor the sound going both directions at the same time. You can put that between the computer and the analog connections of the mixer. I n...

Re: Back track
Audacity calls that overdubbing. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/tutorial_recording_multi_track_overdubs.html Note one important restriction. If you plug your headphones into the computer, you will not be able to hear yourself as you sing or play. If you have an approved mixer or interface, you ...

Re: Limiter not working
The audiobook processing suite runs a loudness normalizer first and then runs limiter. Same idea. Some of these tools don't much like working by themselves. You need to put your performance volume somewhere and then limit it. Are all the limiter settings the same between the two machines? What's the...

Re: Is it possible to convert an accompaniment in bB to bE?
You can do it here. Effect > Change Pitch. But much beyond about two piano notes, it's probably not going to sound natural. Same with transposing voices. Vocal pitch changes with the human, but mouth noises, pops, ticks, air and other expressions don't. You wouldn't be able to tell two people whispe...

Re: Why is my input recording volume too low?
Isn't that fun? This is why the closer you can get with your raw recording the better. Anything you do in Post Production has to be done forever and you have to solve all your errors. It takes me between 30 and 40 seconds to do all that, so once you get used to it, it's not terrible. That's like the...

You shouldn't double post. Your posts are moderated and must be accepted by a forum elf before they become visible. People get into trouble almost immediately when they start doing scientific analysis with Audacity. Audacity is an audio production editor and its goal is to sound OK, not to deliver d...

No. I think you're stuck. Analyze > Plot Spectrum does have a cross and individual readouts, but that doesn't display time.

Re: Why is my input recording volume too low?
OK. Here we go loop de loop. Have you ever used Noise Reduction? Have you ever installed a custom settings into equalization? Stop here and we'll take that in a separate post. ===================== Export the raw reading as WAV and save it in a nice safe place. Edit a copy of the raw reading. When t...
