Re: Hardware playthrough option missing
You are intended to use the Yeti headphone connection for zero-latency monitoring. Screen Shot 2018-09-10 at 3.03.24.png Configure Audacity so the Yeti is your playback device as well as recording. The playthrough options never worked particularly well for most people. You are the first noted who us...

Re: Noise Floor
Why we hate videos (by Kozikowski) I sat through most of the second video, the one by Jason Hilton. I don't know that it's particularly helpful. He's using an almost four year old Audacity and the tool settings are out of date. Some of the settings don't matter because he skims over them too fast to...

Re: Can someone listen to this and tell me what's happening?
If that's not feedback, it's darn good fake. No one has touched it It being the cassette machine. Anybody touch the computer? Does this computer have Skype or other chat programs? Make sure Audacity is recording from your device pathway and not switched to something else. Look at the microphone wind...

Re: Noise Floor
Again, I don't think you need either of these to pass ACX, but that's up to them. I put Noise Reduction at the end because it's easier to find clean Room Tone after you perform the other corrections. Also as in your case, you won't know you need it until after mastering. You, technically don't need ...

Re: Need help with low noise
Yes, there's a ground cable from the turntable to the Ion Mixmaster. Does the noise get massively worse if you take the ground cable off? The Ion Audio iMX05 MixMeister Express DJ is a USB connected device. Does the constant noise sound like this? http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/USBMicrophoneW...

Re: Noise Floor
This is the clip with additional noise reduction (6, 6, 6) and that crisp reducer. That's a custom tool. I need to send it to you if you like it. Do you remember how to use Noise Reduction? Select some Room Tone > Effect > Noise Reduction > Profile. Select the whole clip > Effect > Noise Reduction >...

Re: Noise Floor
Now it gets soft and mushy. In My Opinion, as long as you're not medically messed up, natural breathing sounds might be left in. I'm in a minority. Most performers want to apply extensive surgery to the work, getting rid of mouth ticks, pops, breathing, etc. I agree with the mouth ticks, but not the...

Re: Noise Floor
That's more better. I did cheat a little. I chopped off the last four seconds of room tone (silence). It's possible to fake out some of the tools if you put too much silence in there. I applied the three Mastering steps from here. The — Process section gives you the tool settings. https://forum.auda...

Re: Crackling with Bluetooth headphones
Do you have any other BlueTooth devices connected at the same time?
What does the manufacturer have to say about it? Is there a FAQ where it turns out lots of people have this problem?

Re: Will pay for help fixing my files
you may use noise gating or reduction to help reduce the noise floor. Please be mindful that incorrect use of this kind of software can lead to poor sound audio. They got better at it. They used to forbid Noise Reduction and most other production tools. We used them anyway, but were careful to do i...
