Re: Help needed with SSSibilance

very noticeable whistle sibilance
Actually, you don't. You have plain sibilance, an evil boosting of tones between about 4000Hz and 7000Hz. Whistle sibilance is very serious. That's a wholesale changing some voice tones into other ones. I don't know you can fix that in post production.

Re: Help needed with SSSibilance

Your 28 foot what? That's classic "Essing," and you can fight with the de-essing tool, or you can try a simple equalizer I drew. I switch from raw to corrected about 9 seconds. TNDS Intro 1a Sample 2-Essing-Eq.wav It should have about the same effect as the sock, but it's more tuned to the...

Re: AUP File wont open

So im guessing that is the end of the file. Or, in different words, that's the end of the show. The AUP is, or was the Project Manager File. That tells Audacity what to do with all that stuff in the _DATA folder. If you were saving an edit, the stuff in the _DATA folder is scrambled. Permanently. I...

The lip sync is terrible but it does a credible job of voice modification.

Re: Simple voice change for review

"Make my voice into something else." That usually means "make my voice into an announcer." This is an interesting variation.

There is a relatively recent way to do that without sounding like a computer voice or bad cellphone. I saved it here somewhere. Looking.

Re: AUP File wont open

The AUP is a text file even though it doesn't seem like it. Open it in Text Edit, Notepad or whatever your text editor is. Don't save anything. It should look something like this, only more crunched together. You should be able to read it (without the red box). http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/aup...

Re: Clipping after RMS Normalization

I have a really quiet, small, third bedroom. That's a stand-alone sound recorder and a roll of paper towels. With gentle Noise Reduction, it passed ACX Check first time out and it even sounds like me. They stopped making that recorder but there are others which can do that. OlympusWS823PaperTowel-50...

Re: Clipping after RMS Normalization

I may have discovered a human psychological quirk. Attached is you gasping for air in the room tone segment when you're supposed to be holding your breath. I boosted the volume for testing. Raw-sampleBadRoomTone.wav Everybody reads that instruction and everybody get it wrong. I should ask somebody a...

Re: Clipping after RMS Normalization

No problem. We have a pretty good track record of getting people published and it is a little like matching cats.

Can you hear the difference in your voice before and after five seconds?l

Re: AUP File wont open

If you closed Audacity on a relatively long show and then closed the lid right away, you may have crashed your show. I don't think Audacity is all that obvious when it's busy saving a show. You could have closed the lid on part of the save.
