Audacity doesn't understand Network Connected Storage.
It's invisible to you, but networks have unstable delays, collision detection/resends, and outright missing data errors. To naïve software, that looks like a broken hard drive.

Re: Small waveforms/low sound levels
We assume you have the microphone connected with one of these. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/XLR-Cable-500.jpg Mostly because it wouldn't work at all if you didn't, but we have to cover the bases. Do you get the green SIG (signal) light on the Behringer when you perform? Is the PAD button Not d...

Re: Can Typing Noise be Eliminated?
Did you find out what was causing the recording to pick up the keyboard? Can it be fixed? It would be helpful to know that. There is a sister posting to yours who violated a studio protocol. They produced two podcasts without ever checking the first one for distortion. And it had some. They were bot...

Re: Crackling sounds when laughing etc.
Now we've gotten access to a recording studio where we've been recording another two episodes With a recording engineer? Who set your sound levels? High recording sound levels is what produces clipping and high volume distortion. As you're finding, that's super hard to fix. During clipping, the mic...

Re: Small waveforms/low sound levels
We never got the goal. Why are you performing and what are you performing? The Behringer 204 is a native stereo device. If you have it configured for mono, it could insist on reducing your performance level by half (-6dB). Try configuring Audacity and Windows for stereo and see if that doesn't help....

Re: Concert audio help for newbie
You are witnessing the overload of the microphones in whatever you used to capture the performance. There is no recovery. Once the microphones stop following the performance, you're gone. It's rare to get a good recording from the audience. The sound pressure level of rock concerts is enough to peel...

Re: Equalization effect has no effect?
In case I went off the rails on that one, apply Equalizer > Telephone effect. You should see a great change in the blue waves and the sound of the show. If that fails, do any of the effects work?

Re: Preventing Truncation of Tracks on Car System
These are all MP3 files, right? Windows likes to hide information like that, but you can find out with a handy file checker. https://mediaarea.net/MediaInfoOnline You know you need the Lame software package for Audacity to make a new MP3, right? I can't tell from the post how far along in the proces...

Re: where is the _data folder stored?
If Windows search couldn't find it, it's probably gone. The AUP file and the _DATA folder need to be in the same location or folder to find each other. If it's not there just by looking around, that's a serious problem. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg It hasn't happene...
