Re: Distortion when monitoring using soft pass through
It's normal for Playthrough to be late or with an echo. It's super difficult for Audacity to feed you your own sound back to you in real time. If you're overdubbing, it's strongly recommended you use a USB sound adapter with Zero Latency Monitoring. The G-Track is one microphone which will do that. ...

Re: Distortion when monitoring using soft pass through
So in that moment Audacity is stopped, nothing is on the meters, yet that distortion is playing. Then about 30 seconds later it turns off. So Audacity isn't the only thing running on your machine. That's Not Normal. Pull up the dock usually at the bottom of your screen and see how many little black...

Re: Preventing Truncation of Tracks on Car System
And we should remember MP3's daddy is a video format and the technique was designed to sound identical to the original video at a lower bit rate. It's only when the home users got it and discovered they could get millions of songs on their small music players and all they had to do was sacrifice jus...

Re: Converting simple guitar solo mp3 to midi problems
Nobody understands MIDI. Machine makers do their darndest to disguise the fact that MIDI is not a sound format . I used to love playing my MIDI songs in the wrong speed and with the wrong instrument . One of the MIDI instructions is the actual instrument. 004 may be just a number to you, but to MIDI...

Re: Irregular clicking that won't stop despite following forum suggestions
I thought I had the problem solved. As a fuzzy rule, you change one thing and the problem vanishes. Gone. You are most unlikely to have two or more problems at once (but it does happen) and if you don't hit the exact problem, it gets squishy and erratic and just comes back later at the worst possib...

Re: Lowering peak volume
but there are parts here and there that smash up passed the +1 range. If you're OK with the way it sounds now: Effect > Limiter: Soft Limit, 0, 0, -3.5dB, 10, No > OK. That's the short version where I abbreviated the settings, but they're basically top to bottom in the setup panel. That will gently...

Re: Help removing high pitched ringing sound from voice recording
I couldn't do it either. I was hoping to be able to find one or two feedback tones to suppress, but the room echoes just killed me. Once you build auditorium echoes and reverb into a performance it becomes a "record it again" problem. And Hollywood does do that. If we get a terrible live f...
