Re: The problem with the voice in the background
I used noise removal and compression, but the effect is poor I would expect it to work almost not at all. Compression is used to bring quiet sounds and louder sound closer together, not further apart. Noise Reduction only works on noises that don't change such as microphone hum, air conditioners, o...

Re: Problems editing audio book to pass acx
Yeah. Stay away from the file definitions until later.
If your bouncing sound meter goes all the way up and the blue waves go all the way top to bottom, That's the volume where the digital system stops following the live performance. That's automatic distortion and sound damage. Stay Away!!

Re: Problems editing audio book to pass acx
-Each file must be 192kbps or higher 44.1kHz MP3, Constant Bit Rate (CBR). That's later. ACX requires submission in MP3 sound format. They have specific business reasons for doing that, but you should do everything in perfect quality WAV and only make the lesser quality MP3 when you submit a finish...

Re: Audio Search (EXPERIMENTAL)
That makes the processing considerably faster than it would otherwise be, but unfortunately does make the pattern matching a little less effective But you don't get multiple hits, right? You insist on getting the hero hit first time out? I'm after multiple passes. And I don't just want to wreck the...

Re: Problems editing audio book to pass acx
I have been master of ceremony So you won't have any trouble with the theater part of the job. We just have to get you over the technical requirements. In general, it's not possible to read directly into ACX—or you might do it once by accident, but you can't do a whole book that way. Read so the Au...

Re: Recording from my portable cassette player
There is a step between Audacity and the recorder. The recorder has to appear and work in Windows before it does anything else. Right-click the speaker on the right > http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/Win7-RightClickSpeaker.jpg Then select recording. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/Win7-SoundCon...

Re: DVD player won't play recording
I forgot this one.
You know you have a "real" Audio CD Author and Burn program because it will ask you for the number of seconds between the songs—the gap. Only Audio CDs have that setting.

Re: DVD player won't play recording
burning software to make an audio CD. And just because this can get fuzzy, Audio CD is a thing. It's not a generic title for anything round and shiny with sound on it. It's a specific format with sound in WAV-like quality and space-saving data structure. If you present an MP3 to an Audio CD author ...

Re: Audio Search (EXPERIMENTAL)
As a thought experiment: Compress the model or goal file to very high data reduction and then do the same thing to the show. It doesn't matter if you can understand the music or words any more. That's not the goal. Then, with greatly reduced data go ripping through the search. Even if you get multip...

Re: Nagra Reference Tone
I don't think you should be dealing with the tone at all. The Nagra pilot tone is there so a Nagra can play the tape back with surgical precision to match the completely separate movie camera, also running with surgical precision. Nothing good can come if you have that tone. If you have a mono Nagra...
