Re: Lost all audio after converting to MP3
Did you have blue waves when you were editing the show? If you have an Audacity Project, it should be possible to open it and see the original waves. Can you do that—does that work? Even better if you haven't closed Audacity from the edit, you can Edit > UNDO and get your original show back. Project...

Re: Total Audacity noob here
That'd be kinda creep. though. Not necessarily. I got insanely lucky. The original people in my house had a son who played drums. They soundproofed the third bedroom. So I moved into a house with a working studio. I can make almost any microphone work right from high-end pro to floor sweepings. Jus...

Re: Total Audacity noob here
record two seconds of tomb-like silence, followed by ~15-18 seconds of me talking in a completely conversational tone, with no extra emphasis or over-inflection. Close. Tomb-like only if your room is a tomb. The object is to record your natural background sound. Almost everybody who records this tw...

Re: Lost all audio after converting to MP3
How massive? Medium MP3 compression for a 3-minute stereo song is about 3MB. How big is the file? There is a Force Mono option in the MP3 export. If you have a damaged original where the Left and Right sound are out of phase (you can easily get that with a bad microphone connection), then a mix-dow...

Re: Lost all audio after converting to MP3
File is still massive How massive? Audacity works in super high quality internally so that effects and filters don't damage the sound, but that only works inside Audacity. Your machine has to be able to handle the export size, plus the uncompressed size inside Audacity plus many multiple copies of ...

Re: About Attachments...
way to attach some pictures?? I think it's still a 2MB limit for a submission. In the case of sound, that works out to be about 20 seconds of mono WAV. You can do much better with MP3, but the compression distortion means we can't do accurate diagnosis on your submission. Same thing with .png and ....

Re: Lost all audio after converting to MP3
Did you Export WAV sound files of all the original recordings (if any). Did you Export a WAV sound file of the show before you exported the MP3? Did you Save an Audacity Project before you exported the MP3? Did you close Audacity before you found out the MP3 failed? How long was the show? What was t...

Re: I think I've messed it up again - please help!
all I can do with it is make phone calls, oddly enough. And text. I bet it has a 1-2-3 keyboard and my three character name would take nine keystrokes. That is pretty odd. I may have some 1/2" (16mm) plastic pipe in the garage. I wonder how far I can get making a micro studio. I'll need to buy...

Re: I think I've messed it up again - please help!
Do Not do anything to the computer that restricts the cooling air flow. Of course, the air flow is precisely what's creating the noise. The gaming people get this big time. They go through great effort to have a powerful computer to render the color gaming graphics in real time. Powerful gaming com...

Re: I think I've messed it up again - please help!
I'm assuming that these people actually have MONEY? At the time I produced that and similar graphics, that Olympus recorder cost about the same as a medium quality USB microphone. It will produce Audio CD quality sound files and will do it for eight hours on a battery—and it comes with a rechargeab...
