Re: CD burning and CUE SHEET

Missed one. different songs/titles Audio CDs don't carry song titles. If you put a CD into a computer, it will go on-line and look up the titles. If you have an older car with no internet, the songs will arrive as TRACK 01, TRACK 02, TRACK 03, etc., up to TRACK-99 which is the highest number. https:...

Re: Suddenly muffled vocal sound

This js driving me crazy. I'm not touching anything. Right. You have the symptoms of a ratty computer or USB service (or both). You have Stereo Mix selected which means if there is any failure in either record or playback it will affect the show and if the service is dead long enough, Audacity will...

Re: CD burning and CUE SHEET

I see you have overlaps on some of the songs. Audio CDs don't support overlaps like that. The disk is going to play the overlap as part of one song or the other—or possibly a snivvy of song two at the end of song one and song two will have a snivvy of the end of song one. If you do make the continuo...

Re: CD burning and CUE SHEET

I know that I must use Cue sheet I don't think that's true. Audio CD Authoring and Burning programs such as Windows Media and iTunes allow you to burn an Audio CD with no gaps between the songs. The machine I'm typing on doesn't have an optical drive, but you can see where the setting would be if I...

Re: Static on playback through computer speakers only

Another thing you can do is use one of the sound recorder apps on your phone and record the Air making noises on the same clip you post.

Re: Use "noise gate" to paste room tone?

Many home microphones are delivering with an artificial presence boost because "it's more professional." What that really does is make Essing more obvious (SSiSSter SSuzy SStopped SServing), and it makes normal mouth noises into tiny nuclear explosions. I've been known to make a custom equ...

Re: Static on playback through computer speakers only

When I play it back on my macbook Air, there is crackles and static. You know you're making an almost airtight case for having a broken Air? Post a short segment of the sound that causes the problem on the forum. Export 20 seconds Mono (one blue wave) or 10 seconds Stereo (two blue waves) as WAV (M...

Re: Noise reduction (built-in).

In general, default effects and settings values can be gotten from the manual.

I don't know why Noise Reduction didn't reset.

Re: Static on playback through computer speakers only

One more note. Laptop speakers are adorable miniature versions of "real" speakers.

Headphones are real and some of them come with medical warnings not to play too loud.

Re: Static on playback through computer speakers only

You may be experiencing one of the reasons "Low Rolloff" is part of the Audiobook Mastering Suite. Home microphones and microphone systems can record very low pitch tones by accident. In general the tones don't contribute anything to the show and they can drive small speaker systems nuts. ...
