Re: No Woman, No Cry
And the other 50% would be in appreciation for the wonderful decorating job. I had an office with surgically parallel bare walls. It seemed to have a reverb time of between three and five minutes. The joke was I could break for lunch and the clap would still be going when I got back. the one you ill...

Re: Saving (exporting) to non-Wav is needlessly tedious
When you get done creating your long filename, drag-select it and Copy. Thereafter, Paste it. A slightly more involved way is to create all the filenames in your text editor where you can carefully check and verify them. Then Copy-Paste. I do that when a text entry window isn't wide enough for me to...

Re: Trying to record voice and streaming audio at the same time
How did you connect that to the computer? It looks like a terrific microphone, but won't directly plug into a soundcard. That little exercise will give you "Simple Overdubbing" where you don't hear yourself during the live performance . You get the final mix after you get done and play bac...

Re: Current timestamp
Audacity doesn't have a Clock Time recorder. It's one of the reasons it makes a terrible surveillance recorder. There is a completely wacko way to do this. Get a timecode generator and jam it into one side of the stereo tracks. The show is on the other side (in mono). With a time code reader, you ca...

Re: Brand new, voice over question
Are you going to play the animation and do environment narration? "Our story starts in the small, picturesque village of West Harpersfield," Slow zoom over fields into the church steeple. Or are you doing dialog matching? First, that's normally done upside down, shoot the voice first and t...

Re: Latency when recording Guitar etc
There is a way to do a remote duet, but it's not overdubbing. I did it with two computers and a small mixer. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PodCast_Studio_WS-600.jpg The one on the right is the "Skype" computer and handles all the connections both directions. The far end isn't going to...

Re: Latency when recording Guitar etc
Has anyone got new computer / new sound card and have no latency issues? If so, what do you have? Mainly sound card. I don't have any latency issues. I can do Perfect Overdubbing where I can hear myself in real time and the backing track together. The new performance produces a separate track for m...

Re: No Woman, No Cry
Cupping your hands around and forward of your ears Nothing so exciting. Just pay attention. Can you tell your computer is on just by listening? Nobody up to that point was aware that their computer made noise. Make a recording to discover your refrigerator has noises, and you don't need the recordi...

Re: Blue Yeti Mute Flashing, Yet Not Muting
Both? Yes, the microphone is supposed to mute when you push the button and yes, it does flash when it's in mute. Mute Failure may be you're recording from the laptop built-in microphone. Do the scratch test. Scratch each microphone announcing as you go. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/clips/ScratchTe...

Re: No Woman, No Cry
Auralex. That's the panel I was looking for. There are several YouTube videos describing how foam panels work and comparing them. The TV guy always told me to do something with my voice. See? Make your eyes glaze over and roll back into their sockets, did he? Everybody goes into this with misconcept...
