Re: No Woman, No Cry

Drag-select some text in your forum writing and click the fat quote marks at the top.
That will form a tan quote banner in your posting.

Re: No Woman, No Cry

I can't be in the same room as the PC that Audacity is running on, remember? I do forget you're using the H4 as a stand-alone recorder. In that case, it's a little more involved. Do the "ooooo" thing and announce where it is on the H4 meters. Nobody will stop breathing if you don't hit it...

use 2.3.0 to 'P&R', It's not the best idea to use abbreviations in a question (or an answer). Present and Record? it is almost Midnight here Nobody's shocked about time zone offsets (he said, from Pacific Standard Time). This is actually a worse problem for Audacity than many other forums. The ...

Re: ACX-check plug-in is 'hidden'

I don't know that this is obvious anywhere in the instructions, but you can install Audacity inside a folder. Screen Shot 2018-12-05 at 8.56.29.png That last one down is the folder exploded so you can see what's in it. It's probably no mystery what each folder does. Drag one of the Audacity.app's to...

Re: ACX-check plug-in is 'hidden'

I don't recall hearing of others having this problem. I have it on multiple machines, OS's and Audacity versions and never had any trouble. There is one Mac oddity that might stick you. There's a difference between /Library/Application Support and ~/Library/Application Support. You want the one wit...

Re: No Woman, No Cry

You have a very good recording environment to begin with, so almost anything may get you over the edge.

Do remember you need to start and stop a job with the same environment. A recent poster did an upgrade and/or software update in the middle of a production. It didn't go well.

Don't do that.

Re: ACX-check plug-in is 'hidden'

Are you trying to run both Audacity programs at the same time? I don't think you ever said how you were doing this. The later Audacity programs made you Effect > Add/Remove Plugins and Analyze > Add Remove Plugins before new effects would become visible, even if you installed them correctly. We are ...

One odd note: If you have something you like, hang onto it with white knuckles. It's your show and you have to live with it.

Re: Leveler plug-in

It's worth a side trip to Chris's Compressor. That's an add-on with integrated compression and limiting. It's design goal was make it so Chris could listen to opera in the car. So he wasn't interested in very much distortion, either. With a change of the first variable Compress ratio from 0.5 to 0.7...

I'm sure there are occasional posters with similar, very much simplified versions of this problem, but I've never seen anything like this application. People do run into problems when they try to adapt Audacity to industrial ap...
