Sometimes it's best to just stop trying to use the computer to record sound. That's not popular, but if neither of us can resolve this problem, that does work.

Oh, I get it. You want to record sound playing on the computer.

Re: background noise
I'm not sure that's entirely clear. Noise and Breathing are different and performance sound is from you, not the computer or the room. How are you recording the work? Is it a duplicate of the way you produced the original work? Was the original work done professionally and you're cleaning it up from...

Re: Keep getting error when I select Record
I have a Shure microphone and I can select it in the microphone and speakers areas in Audacity. Missed a step. Audacity gets its sound from Windows, not the device. Open the Windows control panels. Right-click the speaker, lower right, > Recording Devices—I'm guessing a bit) and make sure that soun...

Re: Inserting CD skip points?
Yes, all that is great, but I wonder how the CD player in your car knows what to do. If you burned the crossfades into one long 60 minute performance, how does the cue sheet know how to take the fades out? I think we may be dancing around the real point of the post. I suspect strongly the best you c...

Re: Recording Podcast with mixer and multiple microphones
There may be a way to force a third live channel. Each microphone strip has an EFFECTS-SEND knob. Turn that up and leave the Level knob down. Hope that Effects-Send is pre-fade. I can't tell from the instructions. You can connect a second computer and digitizer to the AUX SEND on the far upper right...

Re: Recording Podcast with mixer and multiple microphones
My guess is you can't do four-track with this mixer. If you look at one top-to-bottom microphone strip, there is no provision to assign a microphone other than the PAN control—Left to Right. There is no assign a microphone to USB-1 for example. Also, there is no analog send 3 and 4, and there are on...

Re: Recording issues
plugging the line-in in the mobo's built in line-in port produced input from only one channel. Let's pause right there. Where is the sound coming from? It's unusual for a sound channel cross to give you Right. Do you have the 1/8" cable plugged all the way in? Either this: http://www.kozco.com...
