Re: Removing background music from a trailer

Is there a way to do this?
Audacity can't split a mixed performance into individual instruments, sounds or voices.

Re: Real time effects

Audacity doesn't do anything in real time. It's a post-production audio editor.

Re: Recording mode goes to "pause"

It can do that if the connection to the sound device is ratty enough to stop passing audio, but no so ratty that the connection fails. Bad USB connections can do this.

the convertion only lasts 1 hour 13 minutes 59 seconds everytime no matter how long the work is.

Re: Podcast recording for Mac phone interviews with Focusrite 2i2 not working!!

You can do that in post production. Tracks > Mix > Mix Stereo to Mono . That will give you a single mixed blue wave that will play to both left and right speakers. You may need to adjust the volume to avoid overloading. If you insist on two blue waves, Select the mixed track and Duplicate it. Select...

Re: How can I get the attack time of an audio signal?

We should consider the view, too. Waveform view only sees sound down to about -25dB to -30dB before it becomes undetermined (invisible). You can easily hear into the -60s or lower. DB view displays the whole thing, but you stop being able to see wave details enough to give meaningful numbers. Why ar...

Re: Saved FLAC files increase in size

If you literally do nothing other than import and export ... the output file will be a bit-perfect copy of the original.
Yes, but it's still converting. It's just under those conditions, the errors go away.

Re: Saved FLAC files increase in size

Since I'm opening 16/44 and saving back to the same, there's no point in dither (right?) Nice try. Audacity works internally at 32-bit floating. Not 16-bit. There is always a serious conversion even if you do nothing. Getting into Audacity is a snap since the quality inside is much greater than the...

Re: Record from Microphone **ONLY**

From the second post:
What's the show? Why are we doing this?
Sometimes that can give us a clue what's happening. You have unexplainable errors, so sometimes we need to branch out into other causes that may not be obvious.
