Re: AudioBook Mastering version 4
Please note there is no "compression" step in Mastering 4. That's no accident.

Re: AudioBook Mastering version 4
That can be a little crazy. You can ACX Check a raw recording to see if you may need to fix your microphone before you do anything else. You can go 'round and 'round for weeks with a broken microphone, environment, or recording system. Also, raw is the one we're going to want if you post looking for...

Re: Chapter fails "ACX check."
ACX Check only tests for technical conformance. It can't tell theatrical quality. Somebody with a damaged voice or uncomfortable reading style can sail right by ACX Check and still produce an unlistenable product. ACX uses technical conformance as a first step and then subjects the work to Human Qua...

Re: ACX new????? requirements
Their requirements now are for 192kbps MP3 files. As far as I know, they have been for quite a while. The bare minimum for any mono presentation is around 32 quality-fixed bitrate. That's when many people start to hear something wrong with the sound. ACX chooses 192 quality—which seems like overkil...

Re: How do you move 1 channel on a stereo track?
Use the drop-down menu to the left of the track > Split Stereo Track. Leave the two tracks Left and Right. It's a simple matter to Make Stereo Track when you're done.

Re: Audacity mistakenly treats (.au) files as missing
The waveform comes from graphic files, not the show sound. It's a mistake to think all those little AU files are sound.Audacity show the complete project's waveform but can't play it?
