Re: Audacity audio noise
If you export your work to one of the "Perfect" file formats like WAV or FLAC, there should be no difference between the Audacity sound and the file sound. MP3 is a compressed format and intentionally creates sound damage so to make its files smaller. Most of the time MP3 hides the damage ...

Re: Unable to Record Properly
Audacity can do that if it loses contact with the microphone. Is it a USB microphone? Can you try a different USB connection? Shut down the machine, move the microphone and start it up again. You may have to send Audacity looking for the microphone again.

Re: Loud hum while recording
You can go hum trolling. That's how I did it. Move the microphone around announcing as you go and make recordings. I had one badly made LED desk lamp which put out a quiet, odd hum/buzz along with the light. The more notable one is the bass music cabinet which didn't go off when I turned it off and ...

Re: Chapter fails "ACX check."
Someone has suggested a limiter? We suggest reading it again. The voice timber and quality is damaged from either excessive noise reduction or MP3 compression artifacts...or both. MP3 works by throwing away sound it doesn't think you want any more. There is no good quality voice left to rescue. You...

Re: Audacity Audio is always out of sync compared with camera audio
There is one much more evil problem that can cause timing errors. The machine may be skipping tiny portions of one performance and not the other. Those would be crazy hard to find, so we'll hope it's not that.

Re: Audio editing on my computer is very slow
Spinning Metal Hard Drive? That would be the bottleneck in your machine. Audacity runs internally at super high quality and UNDO has to create a 100% copy of the whole show each time you do something. When was the last time you shoveled all your old work out of the laptop and into an external backup...
