Re: Is there a technical name for degraded audio over time?
I really don't know who to reach out to or where to post. This works. The forum elves see all the topics and postings. The end of the audio sounds like everything is in super slow motion with super deep voices and sounds. You described two different problems. What's the show? Are you creating a pod...

Re: Can't hear recording from a cassette but can see sound waves
Audacity has to be pointed to a real playback device and it has to be relatively simple. The headphone output of your laptop may be a simple device and work perfectly, but a headset connection (headphones and microphone built-in) may not. What is your playback system? My Mac laptop built-in speakers...

Re: File cannot convert from MP3 to MIDI
Did the software instructions say it could? Converting sound to MIDI is probably the most difficult thing a system can do. Audacity's MIDI is not all that advanced or comprehensive. MIDI is a programming language, not sound. Did it ask you which one of the pianos you wanted? Screen Shot 2019-01-04 a...

Re: Microphone only working while recording with audacity
Please don't double post. Your message has to be read by a forum elf before it is accepted. My microphone Which is a what? Your microphone has to be accepted in Windows before Audacity can see it. So close Audacity and open the Windows sound panels by right-clicking the microphone lower-right. Is th...

Re: Distorted backing track only when recording OD
Audacity doesn't change the backing track when you overdub, so what's probably happening is you're recording the backing track in addition to your performance. Make sure you're recording from your microphone or instrument pickup, not a "fake device" such as Stereo Mix or What U Hear. The p...

Re: New User needing help!
Were you a public area with background music? You can't publish music without making special arrangements (plus making editing a nightmare). When you see public restaurant interviews or theatrical shoots, those are many times staged to avoid problems like this. That famous restaurant scene in When H...

Re: New User needing help!
That's from the Park Bench podcasts. Matt (on the left) is a broadcast engineer. Screen Shot 2019-01-04 at 01.55.23.png What's notable about that is sometimes Tom (on the right) does podcasts by himself and his success rate is terrible compared to the both of them (and Matt has his own podcasts). Re: New User needing help!
Please don't double (or triple) post. New User postings are moderated to help suppress spam and naughty posts. Your post will apper after a forum elf reads it. It's probably not just the ball clicks right? It's also the two players yelling at each other? You may be able to use one of the vinyl click...

Re: Window Media Player see it then it's doesn't
I'm not a Windows elf, but if that were my machine, I would so be making protection copies of the music on a second drive or backup system. I see Skype in your system. Skype is famous for "having its way" with your computer sound services and not asking. Do you leave it waiting for a call ...
