Re: Gain vs. Mouthnoises

Write down how you did this test. I applied Audiobook Mastering and the work passed Technical Conformance—even passing noise with good margin. https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/AudioBook_Mastering Screen Shot 2019-01-21 at 14.23.29.png That and you have a good presenting voice. So most of the hard ...

my ability to know what names to call things If you describe the show and the computer, microphones and interface you're using that helps a lot and then just get close like you did. "It only records when I start talking." Anything like that. We see posts from a lot of right-brain creative...

[_] Sound Activated Recording should not be selected.

Audacity > Edit > Preferences > Recording.

Re: Loading rmsnormalize.ny

Please note you can get into trouble by using RMS Normalize by itself. It was designed to be used as part of an Audiobook Mastering suite of tools.

Re: Loading rmsnormalize.ny

Make sure the download didn't add ".txt" to the end of the filename. You can get MacOS to hide filenames now (which I think is a terrible idea) and you won't see it. Right-click or Control-Tap the file > Get INFO. That should give you the real filename. Also, there are two places to put th...

Re: Error Opening Sound Device - Tried EVERYTHING - STILL NO CHANGE

Cool So it's an older iMac which probably has "real" analog stereo inputs and outputs similar to this. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg Audio MIDI Setup is nice, but I like using Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Sound input and output because this tool has ...

Re: Keyboard Key to jump to next clipped audio region?

om Mac the shortcut is Cmd + .
Which explains why I couldn't easily nail it down. I'm not a Label user.

I'm much more interested in the audiobook Macro. As far as I know, Audiobook Mastering 4 has never been formalized in a Macro and I don't know of any other comprehensive process.

Re: Keyboard Key to jump to next clipped audio region?

Add Label at Playback Position Ctrl+M
That doesn't exist in Preferences > Keyboard Shortcuts, either, which is where I was looking.
