Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
It's like they added a fuzzy noisy undertone to my first book that absolutely wasn't there in the files I submitted to ACX I have no idea. This is the first I heard of serious sound degeneration from ACX. They're usually the ones jumping up and down about sound quality. Audacity has been following ...

Re: How to trim using macro?
Maybe not with a Macro. Macros can't make decisions and as far as I know, they can't address specific parts of a sound file. They're good for calling tools in order. Run Amplify > Run Compressor > Run Tone Controls > Stop. I think lately, you can make them open a file, run some tools and save a file...

Re: Continuous Audio Recording?
It's your job to get your voice louder than the background noise and without distorting. If you have high room noise, you may find Oblique Positioning (B) to work better than straight-on. https://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/ObliquePlacement4.png That will also give you fewer P-Pops and breath no...

Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
There is a newbie "First Audiobook" effect. You get to the end of the book and go back and are horrified at the quality of the first few chapters...and read them again, now that you're a seasoned professional.

Re: Continuous Audio Recording?
That can be either Windows sound processing or left-over tools from Skype or Zoom. Never leave any chat program running in the background.

Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
So the answer is yes, the Zoom will allow me to select and play a sound file from the memory chip. I know it will allow me to listen to my own voice in real time during the recording. That's "zero latency monitoring" for the record. Also called "Direct Monitor" on your Solo. One ...

Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
then move it onto my computer to listen back, right? I know it will let you listen to yourself in real time. I can check playback. But you're right. The current no-cost solution is with the Mosquito Killer as needed. Killer doesn't affect your voice, does it? It's the hum suppressor that does all t...

Re: beeping noise coming up in recording
I wasn't looking up the correct keywords. I was being slightly devious. I searched for vague, fuzzy symptoms and let Google guess at it. And even then, I got that suggestion from an unrelated hit. Does this mean the mic cable could be the culprit after all? No. It means all the parts of your system...
