Re: Mac Mini
Depending on what your real life device is, you should be able to send sound back. Does that work? Generate > Tone: Sine, 440, 0.8, 10 seconds. Play it to the mixer or whatever you have. Are you using 44100, 16-bit as your sound preferences? No matter what your device says it can do, they can all do...

Re: problem - save project as
It's possible to get errors like that with bad filenames. Upper case, lower case, numbers, -dash- and _underscore_. No other characters in filenames.
Use the ISO dates. 2019-01-30. Do not use either slash mark /\ anywhere in a filename.

Re: Mac Mini
Unless they changed it in the one that came out a week or so ago, Minis don't have an internal microphone. You should be able to connect your USB mixer, wait about a count to five and then start Audacity. Don't do it the other way 'round. Click the microphone symbol and you should find a device othe...

Re: Maximum Number of Tracks Allowed for a File?
maximum allowable number of tracks per file? Pushing the words around a little. I think 49 tracks per Audacity Project is allowable. Someone will post with the accurate number. Audacity Project s have many files. It's only when you get to Exporting an actual stand-alone sound file as WAV or MP3 (fo...

Oh. Cool. It's not simple hum. It's pulsing. MUMmmmMUMmmmMUMmmmMUMmmm That is so electric motor or pump noise. Tell you what. Post that "clean" test reading. Don't do anything to it. I can hear your pop suppression although overall your presentation and voice is terrific. Those filters and...

Re: Removing Background Noise from Recording
Even if you do "fix it in post" (with filters or notches) you may have to do that to all the chapters. ACX needs the chapters to match. So it's really good for us to find the problem now.

Re: Removing Background Noise from Recording
Did you get the spidery shock mount with the microphone? If you knock the microphone with your knuckle, does it juggle a little? Screen Shot 2019-01-30 at 15.31.56.png If you did get the shock mount, does your sound cable have a gentle bend or loop in it? The cable should not be tight. That can tran...

Re: Removing Background Noise from Recording
But you're right, it would be good not to have to do that. You can get hum like that from desk or other lamps. I had an early LED desk lamp that make a really quiet buzzing noise. Any fluorescent lamp can do that. I need to look at your equipment list again, but can you do a test recording on laptop...
Re: Lame
Lame is for exporting MP3.
FFMpeg is a different program.
File > Export > Export Audio > Custom FFMpeg exports. Is your format in those lists?
