Re: Waveform WAY too small.

There's a switch on the back of the Snowball. You should be in position 1 Cardioid (directional). Position 3 intentionally reduces the volume. Announce into the company name. That help? Many home microphones record low volume to keep you out of trouble. Low volume can usually be fixed. Too High Volu...

Re: Understanding sound levels

See the blue blob just after 18.3 seconds? It's very much smaller in the bottom clip. That's "Goddaughter LeSSSlie."

Re: Understanding sound levels

Oh, right. Mouth noises. I can show them to you. There's two serious ones just before 17-1/2 seconds. The second picture is the blue spikes reduced (and the tick sound suppressed) with DeCrisper1. GoddaughterLeslie.jpg DeCrisper1.png I can barely hear them, but I know the eagle-ears on the forum are...

Re: Understanding sound levels

Dueling posts.

I'll do that boost thing. You don't need the noise reduction, either, but you're really close to a violation, so I put that step in.

Without the ceiling light, you may not need the extra noise reduction, either.

As we go.

Re: Understanding sound levels

There is enough room tone, but it's not clean. Harrumph, shuffle, shuffle, tick, clink. " A match made in ..." I'm looking for pure shshshshshshsh rain in the trees noise. Hold your breath and stop moving. Did you get the little wind sock to fit over the H2? Try one with that on. That may ...

Re: Understanding sound levels

That went OK. There's still a tiny bit of motor noise in there. I wonder if it's coming up through the floor. Anyway, It easy to suppress now. Screen Shot 2019-02-13 at 18.30.00.png There's two versions for you to listen to. The first one is plain mastering and very gentle noise reduction. The secon...

Re: For ACX users

That's not a raw sound clip, is it? I can hear suspicious noise pumping between phrases and the submitted clip volume is too good. we need the unprocessed clip. Announce, stop and export it. But that's not my major objection. I bet I can tell you the exact size of your room by analyzing the echoes. ...

Re: Boss Amp Input Okay, No recording (with pictures)

The bouncing light sound meter can measure sound down to -60dB (in the default setting). The difference between maxed out and -60 is a thousand to one, so that's pretty large range of volume. The blue waves on the timeline can only measure down to about -25dB (about 20 to one) before you can't see t...

it would also record like I was muffled.
Maybe you were recording the wrong microphone. Do a scratch test.
