Re: Narrated Text labels, ebook epub3

Ding! An EPUB file is an archive that contains, in effect, a website. It includes HTML files, images, CSS style sheets, and other assets. It's a way to transmit a web page or other assets to someone without the internet in the middle. We would be "other assets," since Audacity can't manage...

Re: Narrated Text labels, ebook epub3

I want to take an mp3 of a native speaker reading a story. I probably would not do that. Never do production in MP3 . It's a delivery format that builds-in sound damage and it gets worse as you work with it. You can't stop it. Do production in WAV (Microsoft) 16-bit, save WAV copies of the original...

Re: For ACX users

There's a "dong" sound at 11 seconds. Did your alarm clock app sound? We don't usually have to say this, but you do have to leave your phone in the car or someplace where you can't get alerts. I think you can't just turn the sound down. There is a new service in California which warns of e...

Re: How to record sound that is playing on my Apple Computer

It seems Audio Hyjack may not be a bad solution for people looking to just replace simple SoundFlower. SoundFlower fell apart the instant somebody tried to do something fancy with it. If all you need is route the output of Safari to the input of Audacity (for example), SoundFlower worked a treat and...

We're trying to critically diagnose your work blind and over multiple time zones. We can only go with what you supply. It's not that unusual for us to go totally down the wrong road by the poster and the elves using one word to mean two different things, inability to describe problems, badly express...

Re: For ACX users

The base audio was recorded two years ago at my son's audio/video studio, which is about 24' x 30'. I think I have the problem. Audio/Video studios in general are rooms that look great...full stop. I bet there is little or no soundproofing and it has a polished wooden floor. That's where your echoe...

Re: How to record sound that is playing on my Apple Computer

This from another post. There is no "latest sound flower". Soundflower has been obsolete for several years. Alternative software does exist. See https://alternativeto.net/software/soun ... atform=mac Please note that these are third party apps. For support with these apps you should refer ...

Re: How to record sound that is playing on my Apple Computer

Do I need to install additional software? Yes. Macs don't have any obvious, convenient, internal way to cross the Playback and Record services. The go-to software used to be SoundFlower and cousins, but those stopped working one or two MacOS versions ago. I need to catch up with this, too, since I ...

Re: Understanding sound levels

you're thinking you're handy-dandy filter will take care of it? Among others. There is also a "DeEsser" tool that tries to decide whether the "essing" is objectionable as it goes through the show. I tried that and the show was still a little too bright and hard for my taste. Did...
