Re: Recordings seems fine when recording but when saved and rechecked later, recordings were self cut and duplicated??
I did stop in the middle a bit but all i did was press stop recording. When I do that, it starts a new recording and saves the old one. Is there a Pause button? I have to look that one up. So I think you do have the whole show, but in two sections. I will put money it's possible to not record all f...

Re: Focusrite 3gen scarlet 2i2. Audacity to record only first input. How to fix it?
Both the Mac and Audacity have to be set to record stereo. Are they? Do you use Zoom, Skype, or other chat programs? Those settings can interfere with Audacity recording. Never leave those programs running in the background and restart the Mac if you think there may be interference. What are the two...

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
Yes, but there's another hitch in there. The show will not always be processed to ACX standards. So now you have to go fishing for a good threshold at the acceptable number of bands and unless you're a dab hand at Spectrum Analysis, guessing at the lower and upper frequency limits. That's what, four...

Re: Error: This is likely caused by a malformed MP3.
downloading the FFmpeg library in I was able to import. You need FFMpeg to import file types that Audacity can't handle on its own. Since Audacity is pretty good at opening MP3 files, it's possible your file is something else. Did you let your Mac hide filename extensions? Right+Click/Control+Click...

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
You'd have to do 2 passes: the high-resolution one first, then the blunter default, (if required). Still that's much better than revising each setting from that scrap of paper you wrote them on. Universal Settings? How about lower limit at 3500 and upper limit at 15000? Always. That's the Fourier p...

Re: Difficulty to deal with the "hand shape icon".
Audacity has many Zoom tools that allow you to magnify portions of your show. https://manual.audacityteam.org/man/zooming.html A three minute song may be difficult to edit with the hand icon, but a half-hour or longer show is impossible no matter what the pointer is. I only use three zoom tools. Zoo...

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
Actually, that brings up another DeSibilator question. What are the settings that work well for most people, no matter how long it takes?

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
Can you get DeSibilator to remember two different settings when it's used? I'm fascinated with this particular performance. It has all the symptoms of "ringing" rather than just boosting voice tones here and there. Have you ever had the experience of shouting loudly into a large bell? The ...

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
One note. The notch filter in particular and to a lesser extent DeSibilator are tuned for your microphone and voice. Don't change anything. There is no getting a different microphone "to make things much better." The corrections will need to be adjusted if they're needed at all.

Re: Deessing long audio clips for podcast purposes
This is taking a bit of time because I'm collecting tools and graphics from all over the house where I used them last and I want to get them all in one place when I write this. Simplicity is complicated. Do post back if you get stuck or I leave out a step. Very strong Coffee/Tea is recommended. You ...
