Re: Difficulty Creating a Macro
Indeed, I think you're right Koz. This wasn't an exhaustive search. I just know someone is going to ask how to post a Macro and I should know where they are. Hash. I assume CR LF ends the comment. And that's not in the Manual (yet) either ... I'm going on extrapolation of forum comments. I don't kn...

Re: Difficulty Creating a Macro
I found where Audacity keeps Macros. Screen Shot 2019-03-08 at 3.51.31.png I don't think it says that anywhere in the instructions. So Macros are text files. some-job.txt Is there a comment process? Any line that starts with two semis is ignored? (I'm making this up). ;;example_by_koz_2019-03-08 Koz

Re: Difficulty Creating a Macro
I'm trying to create a Macro using the ACX test steps. Probably not. You're automating the Audiobook Mastering steps. Testing is already a single tool. You're going to post the Macro on the forum when you're done, right? You'd be the biggest hero since Flynwill developed ACX Check. I don't remember...

Re: Avoiding interference from Skype
Skype can subtly interfere with Audacity recording Nothing subtle about it. Skype became the most popular communications app on the planet by taking over your sound system and you have very little to say about it. The up side of that is it always works no matter how messed up your sound system or c...

Re: Problems editing audio book to pass acx
That went straight by me. We're holding two different conversations. Where did LBradshaw go? This is the danger of piggy-backing your post on the tail of someone else's post—even if you have similar problems. Several files sound muffled and distorted. We can probably solve many of the volume problem...

Re: Test Sample fails ACX Check
Before we go into diagnostics, please record a 20 second test clip according to this. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Don't help. Record it just exactly like that, export it and post it to the forum. The instructions how to post are included. Your first posting didn't ...

Re: Change woman's voice into girl's voice
Effect > Change Pitch sounds like it should be perfect on the tin, but in actual use it changes everything about the voice and everything doesn't change between different people. For example, if a very large man and a small child both whispered to you, you might have a very hard time telling who was...

Re: Does waveform suggest recording issue?
The few recordings I have made since seem to my far from expert eye all to have a certain flattening of the negative signals below the 0.0 line on both channels. No that's not normal. There is a sister problem called DC Offset where the blue waves do not settle in the middle (0.0) when the performa...
