Re: Can't adjust input levels. Playback is distorted
in playback that the records are speeded up During digital capture, the computer assigns digital numbers to each sound. If some of them are malformed or missing, the three minute sound file playback may make it to the end in two minutes and change. The most likely place to get damaged is the USB co...

Re: Unable to save project or extract mp3
Did you put punctuation marks such as date slash marks in the filename? Don't do that. Use ISO dates such as 2019-03-31. Dash and Underscore are allowed.

Audacity will recognize many audio format on its own (WAV, AIFF, MP3, etc). It will deal with a lot more if you install the FFMpeg software. Note it's different software if you have Audacity 2.3.0 and before than if you have Audacity 2.3.1 and later. Scroll down to FFMpeg. https://www.audacityteam.o...

Re: Can't adjust input levels. Playback is distorted
sounding like some track are speeded up! That's the phrase that pays. You don't have a normal volume problem. Something is standing in the middle of your music process and messing with it. Speeded up sound many times means the data transfer is going too slow or has missing pieces. You make a speede...

Re: How to Create Ultrasonic Subliminals?
I don't think the problem is going to be Audacity. There's very little about your computer that's going to be happy working up there. 20KHz is where the anti-aliasing, dither and error correction live. Nobody is expecting actual performance or show. There's another problem the audio people insist on...

Re: Previous Track "Printing" onto new track.
I had to go to the "Yamaha Driver" in programmes on my computer ( Not on my DAW software ) and uncheck the "Enable Looping" box. Thanks a bunch for writing back with this info. That's another suggestion for other people who have this problem. You can understand how the forum elv...

Re: Low RMS on Audiobook but being told to lower dB level
This post went a long time before response because it's so convoluted, it's rough to know where to start. Are you following somebody's instructions or process for reading? Did you submit a sample work to ACX before you read the whole book? I don't know when they started doing that, but I think they ...

Re: Recording Volume question
If you followed the general recommendations and saved each raw reading as its own WAV file, you just need to play one of those back and note where the blue waves are. Close that file and see where your current waves are when you record. If you use AudioBook Mastering , it doesn't matter that much as...

What do you think the user is expecting when they dump a plugin into this folder?

I managed to spill some tea on it. Sugar or Milk? If you have either or both of those in your tea, that may be the end of the keyboard. If it was pure tea, you may be able to wait long enough to dry out and the keyboard may come back to life. I wouldn't use the computer until it does dry out. Leavi...
