Re: Why do custom Equalization curves need 2 f points of different value
what I'm doing overall is making songs sound better That's one reason we sometimes ask—firmly—that you give us the actual job. That filter and curve won't do that. That's the filter if all you want to hear is trucks rumbling by, thunder and earthquakes. It's probably the exact opposite of the curve...

Tried and downloaded the Fffeb still will not open. Please check the accuracy of your post before you send it. We can only go with what you tell us and we're guessing most of the time. Typos are not welcome. Niquist It's "Nyquist" A note here. Even if you do get ACX Check in the right pla...

Re: Can't delete or remove blank space at end of track
Isn't 2.3.1 64 bit? They warn us many of the plugins and associated software have to be installed new with 2.3.1. OK, maybe it doesn't matter in Windows 7.....?? That is odd. Does Audacity try to play that blank segment? Do you get an error message if you try? If you export a sound file, does that f...

Re: A true find and replace/delete function
I don't normally ask for this in a programming question, but it would be interesting to see what happens. Record a 20 voice second test and post it on the forum. Don't Process Anything. Raw sound. Instructions in the panel links. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/TestClip/Record_A_Clip.html Koz

Re: A true find and replace/delete function
have Audacity recognize it and find all similar waveforms in length and amplitude so they can be either replaced by room noise floor sound or deleted altogether You're describing Noise Reduction. The Profile step lets you point to a sound segment that you don't want (let it sniff the sound), then y...

Re: fixing audio that sounds clipped
Thanks for trying. To my ears those sounded remarkably close. If I said I reversed them, what would you say? de-compressor I don't know of a de-compressor. There are Expanders which try to put back the original volume ranges and emphasis. The problem is compressor makers customize their process for...

Re: Microfone volume won't change
probably because I'm using a usb instead of a regular jack. Correct. Is it possible to record on your smartphone and lose the cables and computers? Is there a sound recorder app available? The recording app may have a volume control. Even a video recorder app may work. Audacity will open the sound ...

Re: clips meets ACX standard but I got rejected because -60db noise reduction
I have to register again with another microphone or voice recorder? Or use the one you have at a lower volume. Does the recorder have a sound meter on the display? This is mine (red dots). Recording-Volume.jpg Adjust the volume so the indicator bounces up to about -6 dB, but doesn't go any higher t...

Re: Why do custom Equalization curves need 2 f points of different value
A side note. Even if you do use that program, you're not going to get a sharp shelf filter. You're actually going to get a much more gentle curve such as the green line, even with the filter Length turned all the way up. Screen Shot 2019-04-12 at 1.45.13.png At 90Hz, it's 36dB down. It's not gone. I...
