Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
Home recording is not that easy and many performers go through multiple cycles of performing and testing before they hit a process and technique that works. Also, it has to be stable, reliable and work over multiple days and multiple book chapters. Yes, you could submit and wait for ACX to get back ...

Re: Electrical Noise Recording Electric Guitar into Laptop/Audacity
This is screaming broken sound cable or open shield to me. You hear that quiet thick..thick...thick...thick back there? That's the give-away. Normal hum problems don't have that. The system is picking up trash from every electrical device, amplifier, effects unit and motor in a 20 foot radius. I'd p...

Re: Recording USB device AND Internal Mic ??
The three-ring end connects to the female end of the 3.5mm-to-USB-C adapter; the USB-C male end is plugged into one of the laptop's USB-C ports. I expect that to work. The problem is you're recording too much stuff, not that the tape machine fails. You have a "doorknob moment." After a th...

Missed a step. Those are taken from the ACX recommendations here:

Re: Garbled recordings on new Mac
<I don't know what to call the graph Audacity displays showing your recording> That's the audio waveform or "blue waves." Thicker is louder up to when the waves touch 100% either up or down. That's where distortion sets in, so don't do that. when I record the graph (?) output is jerky. Th...

Tell us how it goes. People who go to a studio vanish and we never see them again. Take pictures if it's OK with the studio.I'll keep you updated anyway!

Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
I downloaded the latest version of Audacity Please stop doing that. We live on rich information and specific numbers and data, not metaphors or opinions. The current Audacity is 2.3.1. There are fake versions who scramble the version number and it's good to know if you have one of those. There is n...

You place a label at the beginning of each song you want to appear on its own. Then File > Export > Export Multiple.

Re: clips meets ACX standard but I got rejected because -60db noise reduction
professional recording studio Ask if they know how to produce audiobook sound. ACX has rules about how long the chapters need to be, how long the silences are and how to announce the introductions, etc. Home recording is not easy. Some posters record their first book in a studio and then try record...
