ACX Check is not without its flaws. It needs to see at least 3/4 second of pure, clean background noise somewhere in the performance to give an accurate Noise or NoiseFloor reading. True, but this isn't normal. The presentation, as I understand it, is small sections of dialog amid longer than normal sections of silence. The sort of thing that might throw off RMS Normalize, designed for conversational flow.

Have a quantity of Room Tone available.

Drag-select some damaged voice presentation. Press some button combination and the just the right amount of Room Tone is inserted instead of the damage. No show length change.

What does the Onyx setting say? Manufacturers have the option of custom labeling the connection or not. Did yours?

Are they ASIO drivers? Audacity doesn't easily support ASIO. I expect Audacity to recognize the Mackie and work with no drivers.
