Re: Is there a standard or default recording level
I would still like to know the default setting for the Recording volume in Audacity. You should not be able to move the recording volume in Audacity. It automatically goes to a standard place when you use a USB interface and you can't change it. All the pictures of the 2i2 I've ever seen have the k...

Re: Authorizing Microphone in Audacity + iMac security
Why are you telling them anything if you already know how to solve this problem? Isn't the setting in Apple (upper left) > System Preferences > Security and Privacy? Can anyone shed light on what to tell them?

Re: Is there a standard or default recording level
Nobody wrote you have to do everything yourself. You can hire a real sound studio and recording engineer. Several forum posters started that way and were producing work while they got their own home studio running. The other extreme is Ian who only wanted to record audiobooks from his apartment in H...

Re: Is there a standard or default recording level
Right. I forgot. As DVDDoug above, The 2i2 is a stereo interface and likes using two microphones and it gives you two blue waves when you record. In your case, only one of them is going to have sound on it. The other should be a straight line. Screen Shot 2019-04-19 at 20.04.50.png Let us know. Koz

After you import the first track, de-select it by clicking anywhere in a blank workspace. Then import the second.

Re: How do I combine two tracks, so they both play simultaneously?
File > Import the first track and it will appear as blue waves. File > Import the second track and it will appear underneath the first. They will both play at the same time (unless you stop them with the SOLO the MUTE buttons) and if you export the production, Audacity will mix them together into on...

Re: Copying a sentence 5X including a silence between each
You can build one Voice and Silence. Drag-Select it > Copy.
End > Paste > End > Paste > End > Paste.
You'll need the screen Zoom shortcut Control-F (Zoom Full) to see the whole thing.
Repeat as needed.

Re: Is there a standard or default recording level
You may have a shock and vibration mount for your microphone. My microphone in the illustration doesn't have one. That's the ring and spidery, rubbery thing holding the microphone up. Screen Shot 2019-04-19 at 19.23.37.png That's to keep floor, desk and microphone stand noises out of your performanc...

Re: Is there a standard or default recording level
audiobooks on ACX. Cool. We have tools and techniques to get you through those jobs. Nice microphone. It's a side-fire microphone and you should be speaking into the grill just above the company logo. You should be about a Hawaiian Shaka away from the grill if you're announcing directly or a power ...
