Re: Waveform too small
Where is the solo volume control? The goal is to announce so the volume control turns green and maybe occasionally yellow. Glance at the Audacity recording bouncing sound meter and announce so it occasionally bounces up to between -10dB to -6dB. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/AudacityRecordi...

Effect > Normalize: [X] remove DC and Peak -3dB.
That should boost the blue wave tips up to 70%. I wouldn't go much above that depending on what you're doing.
What are you doing?

Re: Electrical Noise Recording Electric Guitar into Laptop/Audacity
I played with wiggling and moving cables last recording and was able to get the noise to stop but even when holding perfectly still the noise would again resume after a few seconds as if the computer was deciding, 'yes, no, I don't know' in some kind of repeated fashion. That's probably the one I w...

Re: Can't import .wav files despite having FFmpeg and resetting preferences
Call Recorder for Skype. It produces .wav files. I super-duper doubt that. Nobody makes wave files unless forced into it at gunpoint. The rest of your post proved my point. Audacity supports wave files and has forever. If it starts looking for QuickTime support and other odd options, then what you ...

Re: Looking for the easiest way to add drums to backing tracks
I know almost nothing about audio editing so I don't know what to search for. I don't know that there are hits for this. The intention is for you to make the backing (rhythm) track and play that into your headphones while you play everything else one instrument at a time. There's no provision I kno...

Re: My .aup file can no longer be found
If none of the AUP files came back, then chances of music recovery are almost zero. If the music is all stereo, manual recovery may periodically swap left and right stereo at random. If the songs were all edited, that's the end of the world. If you have mono music and posted the original capture WAV...

Re: My .aup file can no longer be found
Open up an AUP file in a text editor (do not save anything!) and read it. It will have the original name of the show or song like this...

You won't have the red box, but that's the idea.

Re: My .aup file can no longer be found
Were they all Audacity Projects? This is a Project. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg You need both the AUP Project Manager text file and the _DATA folder containing the tiny sound snippets to open a show or song. They will have the same name and the name must match the ...

Re: Two different sessions, two different ACX issues
We should note that Mosquito Killer removes the "frying mosquito" noises by deleting the whine noise and many of the overtones and harmonics from he show... and your voice . It's not free. You get Frying Mosquitoes when you connect a sloppy microphone to a sloppy computer—and it's not 100%...

Re: ACX say my RMS is too low
Lots more …… Why don't you publish here. Our mastering suite isn't the only way to do this particularly if you have very difficult sound problems. It's the simplest assuming you got close with the reading. Run an ACX check every 5 minutes I bet that's a grayspires problem. Most people can read for ...
