I note you have well-behaved noise. That's probably your affordable home microphone. It's relatively easy to get rid of.
There are some sound noises that are painful and difficult to remove.

Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
You didn't say how far from the microphone you were. The recommendation is a Shaka without a blast filter. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/HawaiianShakaSpacing-NoScreen-500t.jpg ...or a Power Fist with one. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PowerFistSpacing-Screen-500t.jpg Also, putting ...

Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
I got your test to pass technical requirements-barely. Screen Shot 2019-05-04 at 8.24.38.png FORUM-WAV-TEST-TRACK-Mastered.wav Note the noise, after very stiff noise reduction, is -61dB and the requirement is -60dB. That's not a lot. Your voice is just starting to sound a little hollow and further c...

Re: Niquist ACX check nightmare
Anyway I want to avoid Niquist as far as possible due to the antiquated plug in download system that is just frankly pathetic.. It's "Nyquist" and that takes care of Audacity ACX Mastering. Depending on your requirements, you will need three Nyquist plugins: ACX-Check, RMS Normalize and D...

Re: ACX-check not appearing
You can put a plugin into the system files, although I'm assured this isn't recommended.
Desktop > Go > Go To Folder > ~/Library/Application Support
Do not leave out that little squiggly line. It's magic.
audacity > Plug-Ins.

Hang onto that Mac with white knuckles. The newer Macs can't do this trick.

the sound goes into the computer We assume you have a machine with a stereo analog input like this... http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg Turn the mixer PAN controls Left or Right and the mixer will split the stereo show into (for example) guests on Right and you on the Left. Re: Lost it all
So I decided to just go back to my last save file Which was an Audacity Project, right? Did you change the project name between the two shows? We're trying to nail down why working on a Project and creating damage should also damage an older project. One of the Audacity versions had a serious probl...

Re: ACX-check not appearing
One note. Shift+Command+3 will take a snapshot of the whole screen, but Shift+Command+4 will give you a bull's eye and you can draw a box around a small screen portion you wish to include in a picture.

Re: ACX-check not appearing
Originally, the file had the extension ".txt" which I removed, per instructions I had seen on the forum Perfectly correct. The latest OS versions have taken to guessing at the file type if it's not immediately obvious. Nobody knows what a Nyquist .ny file is, so it analyzes the contents, ...
