Re: Help to identify what is the BEST tools for Audio Book.
Thanks for a good long sample. Flash First Impression. Somebody hit a button wrong and you're recording from the laptop microphone and not the performance microphone. That's where the room echo is coming from. The rest of the distortion is too much noise reduction. That's the wine glass sound. Depen...

I can't listen right this second, but most people fail noise. Noise Reduction, if you use too much, sounds like talking into a milk jug or wine glass. You can't fix that later. Once you do that the only cure is announce it again in a quieter room.
I'll listen when I get home.

Going to thank you in the credits of the book when published. The sainhood would be good, although Gregory the Great would have to share his seat. There's some rules about the microphone. If you can tell that you're computer is on just by listening, you're going to have a bad time. That's the objec...

Re: Cable Creation USB-C Jack Adapter
I've never heard of a broken Windows Volume control. Right. Which means maybe it's not broken. We know nothing about the headphones. We know nothing about where the loud content is coming from. It's not unusual for playback sound to go through multiple volume controls. Let's say YouTube is getting ...

Audacity that is on a external hard drive on my windows 10 laptop. That's not the best idea. Audacity should be running in your internal drive. You can keep all your archive and bits and pieces in the external drive, but Audacity has to manage fast, split-second decisions. Real time, multi-track pl...

Re: Cable Creation USB-C Jack Adapter
Mic straight into my laptop's jack the recording input is normal again and better. How are you doing that? The Neewer is an XLR microphone and won't plug into your Dell. I think I can account for the microphone volume change. When you plug into the Dell, the sound is going through Windows Mic Boost...

Re: Deleting duplicated unwanted sounds
with the option of manual confirmation before deleting all of them. It's not a machine doing the umming, so they're all going to be different. That takes care of simple software doing this. But I thought of another problem. How would you know when an automated deletion was successful in order to te...

Re: Record volume issue
I don't think anywhere in there you said what you're recording.
What are you recording? List all the options, for example YouTube Sound and bass drum microphone.
I know it's tempting to dive right into knob settings, but it's handy to know what your job is.

Re: Audacity recording noise persists after accidental feedback
As a fuzzy rule, Audacity doesn't do anything to the incoming sound. Windows, however, particularly Windows with other sound programs can have tricks and hidden services.
