Re: Audacity 2.3.1 Doesn't See MIDI Input

"Microsoft GS Wavetable Synth" That's Windows trying to play your MIDI data. MIDI isn't music or sound. MIDI is a programming language to tell a device or synthesizer how to make a musical note. You can't hear it. So I guess technically, you should be recording the Microsoft GS Wavetable ...

Re: Two different sessions, two different ACX issues

Anywhere publicly accessible, but you can post on the forum if you have a mono wav track under about 20 seconds or a stereo wav track under 10 seconds. The forum will not let you post a book chapter. I think the cutoff is 2MB. There's also a list of acceptable file formats. The trouble with hosting ...

Re: Detecting faint sounds at certain frequencies?

that would be able to find these sounds Make sure you have protection copies of all this work on separate media before you start messing with filters and effects. You should be able to point to two different storage places as proof of valuable work backup. I think I would trim one recording down to...

Re: Can't locate "Line In" option on Mac

It may not have one. This is what it looks like on an early Macbook Pro. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MacLineIn-650.jpg The 13" MBP had one connection that did both jobs, record and playback. It was your job to switch between them in System Preferences. I don't know how the Air works....

Re: Two different sessions, two different ACX issues

I don't remember if I posted the two tools. This is the web page of ACX Mastering. https://wiki.audacityteam.org/wiki/Audiobook_Mastering That's the exhaustive description. Scroll down to Process . Do Not add or skip steps. It is a suite. A harmonious grouping. I attached ACX-Check. Acx-check.ny Koz

Re: Two different sessions, two different ACX issues

latest of several troublesome delays. This recording at home thing is harder than it seems. If you believe the ads, just buy their microphone, set up on the kitchen table and start cranking out the high quality work. We wrote ACX-Check as a convenient guess on how ACX's Robot automatically inspects...

Re: Issue with larger image

Recording low volume has problems. All recording systems have a little noise. Your job is to make your sound so loud that the noise doesn't matter. If you record very low volume, the sound and the noise may be the same volume and be really difficult to fix. What are you recording? Describe the job o...

Re: Issue with larger image

But that doesn't change the size of the waveforms. Yes it does. Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 17.14.30.png Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 17.14.53.png It's possible you're recording a really low volume sound and the show is a really tiny blue wave. Screen Shot 2019-05-06 at 17.19.01.png That's a production ...

Re: "Banging" sound in background

Now you get to fill in the holes. Which youTube post? Which microphone? Does the damage appear at the same place every time you play the work? Does it only appear when you speak? everything is quiet. I think I got that one. Everything is quiet to your ears, but the recording is still noisy? my recen...
