Re: Can't solve latency issues
receives the recording and sends the output to the same DA That's not quite what it does. The program sends your performance through a shortcut to suppress this delay. It's not going all the way into the editor and then all the way back out again. And the delay doesn't go to zero. It just gets very...

Re: Change in the dB vertical scale of the tracks
Menu drop-down on the left > Waveform dB. You can also choose Spectrogram. What it doesn't have is blue waves in percent but labeled in dB. This is a capture from Cool Edit. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/CoolEdit.jpg Note it still only shows you the loudest 25dB of the show, but the numbers match t...

Re: Disappearing tracks after de-essing!
Our DeEsser doesn't have this, but some programs have a selector:
[X] Remove Essing
[_] Remove Everything else.
The second choice lets you see if you're removing some of the valuable voice by accident.
Our Noise Reduction tool has a setting like that.

Re: Help! Unable to open aup files in Audacity
No. They have to be sitting next to each other like this. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/MyMusicAUP-MyMusic_DATA.jpg They have to be in the same location or folder and they have to have the same name and it has to be the name they were given inside Audacity. You can tell what that name was by op...

Re: Audacity automatically saving projects as zipped files
You should stop paying attention to the pictures and icons on your machine. They're fried. You should also tell Windows to stop hiding filename extensions. That's elegant and convenient when everything is going OK, but a living nightmare when it's not. This is first hit from a Google search: Hide Wi...

Re: Newbie-can't find the tools everyone is talking about
What was the commentary they sent? Can you cut and paste the whole thing to a forum message? It's a mistake to reduce one of their multi-point messages to one solution. Sometimes they are misleading because they can't see your original reading before you applied corrections. when I go to add/remove ...

Re: Replacing Noise with Room Tone
As you may have seen by now, we can open up the sound track from many different video types, but we can't put the corrected sound back. for that you need an actual video editor program.

Re: Replacing Noise with Room Tone
It's not a good idea to go back and edit a post. Sometimes we remember your first post and come back later to answer it. If you change the post, we might be answering the wrong question. The forum software will warn us if you make a new post so we don't miss anything. I would leave the noise that oc...
