Re: Change in the dB vertical scale of the tracks

It is not something new at all! No, but what's new is calling it a logarithmic scale. That makes me think of the odd scales on a slide rule. Remember slide rules? Screen Shot 2019-05-18 at 13.39.40.png So you really want a dB scale like I posted in the first response. The one from Cool Edit. http:/...

Re: Audacity automatically saving projects as zipped files

All the files I try to save now turn out that way. Post one of those files on the forum. From a forum text window (like I'm typing on right now), scroll down and click Attachments > Add files . Screen Shot 2019-05-18 at 12.17.44.png Click on one of the mystery files. Let's see what happens. Koz

Re: Can't solve latency issues

It's not that unusual now to find devices that can use this connection trick. The original overdubbing tutorial has three examples. That G-Track microphone. (I don't own that one. It's on loan and I told the owner if he wasn't watching it I was going to steal it) This is Shure's X2U microphone to US...

Re: Disappearing tracks after de-essing!

There's another possibility, too. DeEssers are difficult to setup and use. I thought ours was a ghost or rumor until I found how to use it with our published audiobook mastering system. Suddenly, boop, it gracefully removed all the harsh SS sounds in my presentation, just like it says on the tin. I'...

Re: Sony WI-C300 Bluetooth playback static Audacity 2.3.2 Mac OS 10.14.4

I'm having no problems playing back audio using Quicktime or iTunes. But when the same files are played back with Audacity a static/crackling is clearly heard. I think the party line is BlueTooth can't support full quality sound transmission, so the other apps cheat and reduce the quality before it...

Re: Pitch-shifting only specific sections of a song?

How many instruments are playing at once? If the number is over 1, then you're stuck. We can't pull one instrument out of a mixed performance and mess with it. We can change the pitch of multiple instruments all at once, but the effect rarely sounds very good over about a note or two. To illustrate ...

Re: Change in the dB vertical scale of the tracks

In a text window, scroll down and click Attachments > Add files . That should open a window to your machine. There's a limited number of different picture file formats, so stick to the main ones: GIF, JPEG, PNG. Also it's good to limit the pixel count to 650 sideways and 500 top to bottom. Db volume...

Are you hoping to read for audiobooks, retire rich and move to a nice cottage on the Mal d'Mer coast?

Those are nested folders starting with the desktop. This is one place ISO dates come in handy. Today is not 5/17/19. It's 20190517.

Later Macs move this around a little.

Re: Problems downloading plug-ins

It's now at my desktop I do everything through the desktop. It's enormously easier than chasing files all over the machine. When the desktop starts to fill up, then I do the housekeeping—at a time convenient to me. Here's a trick. If you try to use Spotlight to find something, it will naturally ass...
