Re: Noise floor too high (ACX) no matter what. Please help.

Did that come out English? Sometimes I'm not sure. The object is do a test where everything you announce goes through that Remove DC filter. You can cut back and forth between you and generated effects like silence, and cut back and forth between you and anything that didn't go through your micropho...

just to cover it. Janet Sample 1 has a tick at 2.93 seconds. I amplified it greatly and that (in my opinion) is the signature of a bad edit or an edit between two sound files that either one or both aren't technically correct. This is not the only instance, though. Nobody wrote you can't have two problems. Those are really entertaining. I need to wait until I get to a noise-free environment to listen. It's good to have as many observations as possible. It's good you noticed clicks at edit points. That can be cause by two...

You need to download the 64-bit versions.
Which is where exactly? This whole post swims around the user apparently doing everything right, and still failing.

Re: Can I recover? (AUP file is blank, .au files are silent)

My recording was under an hour (I believe – around 52 minutes) and I was saving often. So your show was 52 minutes, but you had stop and start events multiple times? So several individual recordings. Did you Save or Save-As with different names, times or dates? If you routinely saved as different P...

Re: Changes in noisefloor during recording

The file hasn't been processed at all. We can't take processing out of a clip, so when someone sends us a damaged clip after processing, it's rough to know who damaged what. As you noted, this sound and technique sails right through audiobook mastering and doesn't need any further corrections. Your...

Audacity 2.3.2 is the step between 32-bit and 64-bit. It takes a different FFMpeg.

Re: Record from old recorder

I have something like that. You can get around all those "universal" PC connections with an adapter cable and a USB stereo adapter. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/RCAMiniStereo-650.jpg That's for your recorder headphone out. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/peaveyUCA202Lenovo.jpg...

Yes. It's easy to forget the rest of the world is getting ready for bed.

I'd love to say I'm headed to the beach to catch the last rays of the Warm California Sun®, but it's actually raining like crazy and I walked to lunch.
