Re: Could Not Decode File error

Windows has a nasty habit of updating and forcing a reboot at the most inconvenient times.
I never allow auto update. I make the system notify me, I carefully save all my work and then do the update.

Re: transfering audacity files from windows 10 to Mac

Now I have a need to go to a new Mac. Because....? Sometimes knowing that will let us predict what the shortcomings are going to be. Can you speak Linux? Macs are built on a Linux base and the Linux is still back there if you need it. I did this with the Terminal app. Built in. Screen Shot 2019-05-...

We have to build your world in our imagination to help you. The more information, the better.

A good start is the goal.

Re: How can I make my voice-overs better?

Yes. Hint too much essing, but that's easily fixed. I ran it through audiobook mastering and you'd be good to go if you ever decided to go that route. I do have one "complaint." The noise is too good. Before mastering (it wasn't too far off to begin) the background noise is quieter than -8...

Re: Audacity playback too fast when recording on quality higher than CD

Temporarily stick to 44100. Your interface has an actual sound level meter (flashing lights). Screen Shot 2019-05-27 at 8.18.15.png Play as loud as you can and adjust GAIN INPUT-1 until you only get green lights. Maybe an occasional yellow. You should never, ever get that red CLIP light. That means ...

Re: Audacity playback too fast when recording on quality higher than CD

Yeeeah I'm not too smart Not this time. That catches everybody. I think the record is three identical posts from someone who thought their original post didn't "stick." I'm going to look up your interface. I'll put heavy money on you have a wrong adjustment somewhere. There are conditions...

Re: Audio Noise/Hissing with Yeti Blue Mic

Here's a thought. The Yeti can switch between multiple patterns: Figure of 8 (sound from front and back), Omni-directional (sound from all over) etc. Switch between the different patterns and see which ones are damaged. The Yeti connects its different capsules in different ways to do these tricks. I...

Re: Audacity playback too fast when recording on quality higher than CD

Rode NT2A. You can't hook an NT2A directly to a computer. There should be a piece in the middle. The piece in the middle determines the sample rates, speeds, bit depth, etc, etc, etc. What is it? I use a Behringer UM2. Screen Shot 2019-05-27 at 6.48.55.png Røde has a very nice one, the AI-1. (That'...
