Re: what effects in what order for noisy recording with low levels?
That's a wreck, isn't it? what effects in what order to boost level and reduce noise2.mp3 That's Effect > normalize to -1dB and then two passes of stiff Noise Reduction. 9-6-6. Get the profiles from a stretch between words. Then, when the first pass isn't enough, do it again with a new profile. The ...

Re: How can I make my voice-overs better?
I might have already run the noise removal on that "before" Busted. Noise reduction can cause some serious problems that's why it's important to submit a clean recording. Noise Gating can be very seriously difficult to manage. I have trouble with ACX's latest recommendation. If you couldn...

with my mouth "1 shaka" away from the mic and using a pop filter. If you're using a pop filter, the recommendation changes to one Power Fist. http://www.kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/PowerFistSpacing-Screen-500t.jpg your initial recording level is a little low. And if you get very slightly ...

Re: I think I've messed it up again - please help!
I don't hear that much difference. There is a volume change between them, and if I make the quiet one a little louder, the differences go away. That was one of the problems with that demonstration from the guy under the blanket. He got closer to the microphone. Everything sounds good when you do tha...

Re: How to record 2 tracks from separate sources into 2 tracks?
There are other methods, but probably not a button-push from where you are now. Do you have a smartphone? They all have voice recorders. http://kozco.com/tech/audacity/pix/iPod-MicStand-500.jpg You can probably get your computer to do everything, but maybe not with Audacity. There is a list of multi...

Re: How to record 2 tracks from separate sources into 2 tracks?
I've tried recording the music (stereo) and then doing the voice over (mono) separately but by the time I'm done it takes me 3 hours to record a one hour show. You're doing well. The rule for an edited show is 5X. record both simultaneously Right. You are talking yourself into two different recorde...

Do two tests. One like you have been and one under the covers. The only one we have like that is the guy who did it on video as a sound test.
And yes, I have to do one when I get the kitchen table far enough along.
