Just now thinking about this. I can't just save a "room tone" segment and export it for use later as a Noise Reduction profile because it will have dither added to it.
What's the recommendation?

Re: I can't believe I messed up this horribly
I won't burden you with why. Go ahead and burden us. We have to construct your performance in our heads to figure out what's wrong and seemingly trivial details can sometimes be valuable. On first pass, I envisioned y'all sitting around a table in the kitchen. In fact you were probably in completel...

Re: Cannot open MP3 or WAV files
The forum works best when we have experience with how current Audacity versions are used on common machines for relatively simple jobs. It works less well on celebrity machines or machines whose configuration is only shared by a handful of other machines. Two problems occur immediately: None of the ...

Zoom H1n
I think I'm far enough along to do a review. I took delivery of a Zoom H1n sound recorder and shot a voice test. Fair warning I have a dead quiet recording space (a guy before me played drums and soundproofed the tiny third bedroom). Nobody is going to accept my lip smacks and tongue noises anytime ...

Re: EQ settings in Macro
If this is the same problem, I have a more devious way. Audacity will save Last Curve Changed . So get yourself a curve in Draw mode. Doesn't matter how you get there. Make one super tiny change anywhere in the curve. That curve will now stick until the sun cools off. Screen Shot 2019-06-02 at 9.28....

Re: Noise Reduction Profile
You record a background noise file and use that to periodically update a fresh Audacity? That's how I do it.I usually record a 10 second background noise profile

Re: Noise Reduction Profile
Yeah. That's come up before. I want the Noise Profile to stick like the settings on some of the other tools. The problem, I assume, is that the other tools are remembering single numbers like "4" or "7." A Noise Profile is like trying to remember a book. I think it does stick as ...
